Good inn for this price

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Bed, price, location
Cons: breakfast, noise control.
Location: Good location. Can visit Mormon Cathedral and Utah capitol hall within walking distance. There are a couple of good restaurants around as well.
Pros: Beds were soft and comfortable. Location was wonderful, close to downtown, walking distance to Mormon cathedral and civic center. Breakfast was average level. Cons: bathroom was too small. There's a garbage collecting truck working in the yard at midnight, which was very annoying and made me hard to fall asleep.

Pleasant Surprise

Posted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: I liked the location, the room, the mattress, the staff, and the price.
Cons: The outlets were hard to find--I figure it was because it was an older facility.
Location: It was on the edge of some of the trendy dining areas, 3 miles from the University of Utah, within a few blocks of the lightrail. For my needs, it was
I was visiting Salt Lake City to participate in the Deseret Classic Marathon which is held on Founder's Day. Since I was not going to be staying for an extended visit, my main concerns were cost, safety, cleanliness, and accessibility, with staff courtesy being an added bonus. The Metropolitan successfully exceeded my expectations. It was close to both I-80 and I-15, but to be honest, I probably would have been okay without a car except for the heat. Though an older facility, it was clean and relatively spacious, with some charming faux Art Deco furniture and a great Tempurpedic mattress. Since it seemed to be in a transitional area and I had to leave my room at 2:45 a.m., safety was a concern, but the office was staffed and I felt very comfortable. The staff was helpful, allowing me to leave my car onsite during my run and giving me the name of a local cab company which efficiently delivered me to the bus area for my race. I felt that the cost of the room was reasonable when I booked it--now after having stayed there, I feel like I scored a bargain! Thanks to The Metropolitan and thank you Expedia for a nice place at a great price.

Pleasantly surprised

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Older motel, but thick towels; a fantastic posture pedicure king bed; nice bedding; newly tiled bath; two comfortable chairs in the room; free parking
Cons: Better coffee in the room, more breakfast options. The pool area is clean but in the corner of the parking lot - some landscaping would be nice.
Location: Salt Palace Convention Centre, City Creek Mall, Temple Square, Gateway Mall, Planetarium, Zoo, State Building.
Nice staff, really clean, excellent bed, beddingm and towels! Good location.

Nice hotel but not worth the price

The bathrooms were a little nasty, but overall room smelt nice, not itchy at all, breakfast was good, the parking lot was always full with no parking spots!

Good price in good location, but outdated.

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Location, price, tempur pedic beds
Cons: wireless internet needs to be fixed, and TVs need to be upgraded.
Location: downtown SLC
the wireless internet did not work at all. in 2014 you would figure an issue like this would be solved. staff was friendly. old outdated tube TVs in room. Comfortable beds, effective AC units, clean bathrooms.

Fine but no WiFi in the room

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Good room, bed. Clean. Near center of city.
Cons: Arrange to get the WiFi working in the rooms, even on holiday weekends. Desk clerks who try their best doesn't cut it.
Location: Good restaurant, Cheesecake Factory, in the downtown mall.
I stayed 4 nights. The WiFi did not work in my room, although the signal was strong and it worked other places in the hotel. Otherwise a fine place.
