Minutes to everywhere in downtown Salt Lake City. The beds were very comfortable, the room was clean, and the staff was friendly. I would definitely stay here again!

Loud and bed Uncomfortable

Posted Apr 2, 2014
Pros: STAFF and downtown location
Cons: see above experience
Location: TRAX. So we took the free zone and went everywhere!
Surprising the posture pedic bed was terribly uncomfortable. I could not move or get out of the bed with out breaking a sweat. The TV did not have great channels. I could deal with the old model, no big deal........But the picture was so so and the channel selection was terrible It was very loud being an exterior entrance to the room. People who were smoking outside, smelled like they were in our room smoking.... Honestly my price was $79/night....It was more like a $50 room experience..When comparing hotel prices, the price was comparable to some other commercial hotels. So I did not think I would have any concern at the $79 price.... I really felt like spending an extra $15 or $20 a night would have made all the difference for me..... Accessibility was great to downtown, TRAX etc.... The staff was great! We ended up moving to a different room because a neighboring guest was smoking so much.... Most people don't stay in their rooms usually. As a local, I truly was hibernating with my husband for the two days with out kids..... Our main objective was quiet, eating, and TV watching....We went out for dinner and clubbing at night. Perhaps, I did not do my due diligence in picking the right hotel for my itinerary.

Don't stay here

Posted Mar 26, 2014
Pros: Price is low and the staff is very friendly and polite
Cons: Facilities, mattresses
The Inn is in a great location in downtown, but the building is old and very run-down - everything from the elevators to the showers is peeling paint, battered etc. It is very clean and the staff has clearly done its best with the aging facilities, but there's only so much that be done short of a complete renovation. Water pressure in sinks and showers is low. Worst of all, the mattresses are hands-down the worst I ever slept on - hard as a rock, felt like sleeping on the floor. TV has about 10 channels of basic cable. The price is low and the staff is very friendly and polite, but overall this is absolutely not worth it - stay at a Holiday Inn or someplace where you know and are familiar with the standards.

Not a boutique hotel it's a pig with earrings

Pros: Decent beds
Cons: New t.v.s new furniture, better cable package. Better breakfast.
Location: I don't know I just got it to sleep in
It's fine if you are wanting a motel that's in the 70s. It's out of date. It's dingy. The furniture is all old and the breakfast is disappointing. It's a place to sleep that seems clean it's not the great place they advertise. It's even claims premium cable. 10 Channels plus HBO does not premium cable make. They also charged me a 10$ extra person fee for my 2 small children which only happens from jerks trying to get every penny from you!!

great mattresses

We stay there for the temperpedic mattresses. Overall room quality is '70s. Allow an hour to air out the excessive fragranced air freshener they spray in the rooms.

Nice hotel. Clean rooms. Friendly staff.

Pros: Cleanliness, friendly staff, good value.
I enjoyed my stay at the Metropolitan Inn. The hotel is nice; the rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. If you want resort-style accommodations, look elsewhere. If you want a nice place to stay that is a good value, the Metropolitan Inn will suit you well.

The good the bad and the ugly.

Posted Mar 12, 2014
Pros: The room was clean and well appointed (except the shower), and everything worked (except the hot water in the shower.
Cons: Clean the shower and get more and hotter water.
Location: Very convenient.
The new bed was wonderful. It was a first for me. The evening desk clerk was great as was the morning guy. The hot water pressure and ultimate temp. in the shower was bad or otherwise most disappointing. The mold/mildew is the shower was ugly and disgusting.

No parking left

Posted Feb 16, 2014
The room was dirty, bathtub was disgusting, cob webs in the corners, my white socks were black after walking around for a little bit in the room. My husband and I went to dinner and came back and there was no parking left for the guests. We also saw another person behind us trying to find parking. We ended up parking in a no parking spot in front of the dumpsters worried we would be towed or ticketed. Wont be staying here again.
