“Loved the bed!”

The Peery Hotel was a lovely place to stay. The staff were very friendly even though I arrived close to midnight. They were helpful with driving directions in the morning. The bed was wonderful! I slept so well. The room was small but very clean. The bathroom was a fine size but the shower was tiny. It worked for me. I would definitely stay here again.

“The best little hotel in Salt Lake City”

The Peery is a charming little hotel in the heart of Salt Lake City, within walking distance of many restaurants and the convention center. Each room is unique, but they all have comfortable beds, attractive furniture and decor, and all the little extras that a traveler wants (iron and board, hair dryer, bottled water, lots of good hangers, soaps and shampoos). If you care about having a good view and can sleep through a bit of street noise, try to pick a room that faces south or one of the corner rooms that face southwest. The views from those rooms are superior to the views that face toward other rooms (the hotel is laid out in an E, so some of the windows face other windows). If you're a light sleeper and don't really care about the view, pick a room that faces north (over a parking lot behind the hotel) or is not directly facing the street. I like room 331. This hotel is clean and beautiful (it still has a lot of 1910 charm). The staff is unfailingly polite and helpful.

“Loved the character of this hotel”

Great location in downtown SLC near many good restaurants. Although it's a historic building, the hotel has been refurbished nicely and our room had great character.

“Great Hotel!!”

Great location in Salt Lake with traditional decor. Very helpful and friendly staff and the rooms were clean, had beautiful decor and they had Starbucks coffee and teas in the lobby all day and night! Great stay. Will stay there again if in the area.

“Modern Classic”

Awesome accommodation and staff. Super clean, quiet and comfortable. The Tempur-Pedic mattress is the bomb! I want one! Beautifully restored 1900's hotel. Complimentary Starbucks coffee in the lobby. Just a few blocks away is a the Market Street Grill, serving an awesome breakfast. The friendly concierge at the Peery will not steer you wrong. It's a hoot to watch the Peery valets run to get your car!

“A Grand Old Lady”

The Peery Hotel is old, and in some ways--notably the quirky bathrooms--it shows. It is an historic hotel, well cared for, three (long) blocks from Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City. The cab ride from SLC was under $20, tip not included. Everyone treated me well and helpfully, but I dropped one point on service because there are no breakfast options and because the "business center" is actually a converted closet with only one PC. Free Wi-Fi mostly makes up for it but some folks may have to wait to use a printer (I did). About the quirky bathroom: my room had a nice pedestal sink with a shelf for toiletries and marble tile beneath...smack in the middle of one wall. The toilet and shower (no tub) were located in what could only be described as a water closet. The floor of the shower was elevated and the ceiling was lowered; a tall claustrophobe might not like it. This did not detract from my stay at all--it's typical of hotels this age; just don't be surprised. The bedding is exquisite, with six pillows of different consistencies, excellent crisp sheets and an incredibly soft but supportive mattress. The decor is lovely, particularly in the lobby, but the only seating in my small room was a nice desk chair. If you insist on a modern suburban hotel like you find 30 feet from any interstate highway, this is not the place for you. But if you want good service, incredibly comfortable bedding and a grand lobby, within 15 minutes' walk of Temple Square, try the Peery!

“Excellent Hotel”

This is an excellent place to stay in downtown Salt Lake City. It is close to everything: the best brew pub in SLC (Squatters) is literally across the street, Convention center is 2 blocks and the temple area is 4 blocks away. You could not pick a better place to relax. There are 2 restaraunts near by (one on either side of the hotel building), the staff is very accessible and friendly, and the room was immaculent.
