The Peery Hotel SLC

Posted May 27, 2015
Pros: Location and historical ambiance
Cons: Provide, at least, a coffee maker in the room, and an updated television set
Location: Great location close to public transportation, fine dining, brew pubs, and museums
Wonderful historic hotel close to many points of interest downtown Salt Lake City and transportation options (e.g. walking, public bikes for rent, light-rail, pedal-cab). The room was perfect for our stay (two adults) considering the price, location, and amount of time we spent in the room. The hotel staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The room itself was small but the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, it was difficult to keep the room temp constant with the air-conditioning, but the front desk offered a fan for the room at no charge (we did use a fan in the room our entire stay). The room did not have a refrigerator, microwave, or coffee maker, but all of these amenities were available on request for $10 a night (as a side note, we purchased a coffee maker from a local store for $16 in lieu of the hotel rental) . The hotel did not have parking and the public parking adjacent to the hotel was $12 for 24 hrs, however, parking is free for the weekends and holidays on the street in front of the hotel.

Nice Hotel, not parking included though

Posted May 27, 2015
Pros: The staff members were pretty friendly and helpful
Cons: The only thing that was not so good is the lack of parking and the size of the room.
Location: Right @ down town, what we needed
The room was pretty small but comfortable, the shower not so much. The staff members were pretty friendly and helpful specially the house keeping lady from third floor, Norma, she went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed (extra pillow, towels and blanket), Breakfast was good, the only thing that was not so good is the lack of parking and the size of the room.

Staff was great, but room was micro sized.

Posted May 26, 2015
Pros: proximity to convention center
Cons: Room was soooo small that we could hardly move, Also elevator has warning to not put more than 2 people at a time in it. Not reassuring as to safety
Location: downtown
The hotel has a way to go yet to come up to modern standards. The staff was great, breakfast good, but the room was soooo small that we could hardly move, Also elevator has warning to not put more than 2 people at a time in it. Not reassuring as to safety. I think they are trying but need to improve a couple of things. As a regular traveler to salt lake I would not stay here unless they improved these things.

Great value for a downtown beauty

Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: Since the building is a historic landmark, the rooms are very small. Magnificently comfortable and sound proof but small.
Location: everything......shopping, restaurants, and business.
located in the middle of "the action", The Peery Hotel is a gem. One can walk in a few blocks to shopping and the convention center. The staff were fantastic and the building is beautiful.

Nice. Close to Convention Center

Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: Closeness to Convention Center
Cons: The sink in the Bathroom splashed all over. Wish there was more counter space in the Bathroom
Location: We found the light rail to be very convenient and close to the hotel. We love the Vietnamese Pleiku
For being 100+ years old, it was in good condition. Wish the room we were in was just a tad bigger but it was comfortable. Loved that breakfast was included with free wifi as well. Only a block from the convention center it was very convenient and located close to wonderful restaurants. Would stay again and recommend it
