We were so disappointed with this hotel. We got on the plane in Buenos Aires to go to Salta but, because of fog, it could not land. They rerouted us to Cordoba and then they made us return to Buenos Aires (traveling with 2 small children). What made it worse, the airline did not have any available seats to Salta the next day. We would miss 2 nights of our 4 night reservation, which meant we had to cancel our trip altogether. I called the hotel from the airport once we landed back in Buenos Aires and explained the situation, and I was told by a sales person that there would be no problem on getting a refund, but that I had to go through Expedia. Expedia was very solicitous and said they would work on getting the refund. After 2 days Expedia got back to us and said that a manager at the hotel had authorized the refund. We were beyond grateful. About a week passed and we get another email from Expedia saying that, unfortunately, Marianela (not sure her position at the hotel), had rejected the refund. I personally called and spoke with her and she said because it was a nonrefundable rate, there was nothing they would do. She was aware of our situation but they basically did not care. I even asked if we could get a partial refund, but nothing. We thought it would be reasonable to get at least some money back since we could not use any of the nights. Unfortunately, Hotel Casa Real did not agree. Just be aware this is how they do business, which has nothing to do with "hospitality".
