The staff were friendly, the room clean and comfortable and the food good. As I was leaving at 5 am they left me a packed lunch. I could not ask for more.

Beautiful StaithesPosted Oct 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
Had a lovely weekend at this beautiful fishing village, stayed at the Captain Cooks Inn and had a relaxing time. Staff were very friendly and made you feel wecome. Needs refurbishment big time to make it into a B&B that you'll remember. Bath needed a clean . Will stay there again when they have finished the work.

Very much enjoyed our stay, basic but clean is all I ever ask for, loads if character and above a pub by the sea, fantastic breakfast what more do you want.

Staithes - what a gem.Posted Sep 13, 2013
Pros: The full English breakfast was tasty.
Cons: We were told that the room we stayed in was the last one in need of redecoration.
Location: Great location for exploring Staithes and Whitby.
The Captain Cook Inn looks rather tired but the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Had a pleasant stay with my 2 boys. We will certainly return.

We found the hotel to be a bit shaby looking but the room was clean and the beds were very comfy. We had fantastic views out of our bedroom window. The staff were helpful and friendly. I cannot comment on the food as we did not eat here . Also there was free parking next to the hotel.

Lovely people but accomodation needs attentionPosted Apr 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great bar with excellent food, however the room I stayed in was in need of some TLC. The provision of wi fi throughout was excellent with a handy slip being provided on arrival showing wi fi code, outer door and room access codes together with land line plus mobile number of landlord. Good location for walking the Cleveland Way.

Worst nights stay ever!Posted Apr 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
We came here as there was a wedding at another location and this was the only place available for us to stay. We now wish we had taken a tent an camped in a field! The place on a whole looked like a clean would have killed it! The place stunk and just full of dirt. The only thing that looked clean were the bed sheets (thank god) as we were contemplating sleeping in the car! I would not recommend this place to anyone!
