Our halfway stop from Texas to San Miguel de Allen

Posted Jul 2, 2014
We have stayed at Camino Real for 30 years on our drive down to San Miguel de Allende and we love it. Great margaritas and nachos in the bar. Great pool to unwind and then breakfast buffet. Fantastic staff that has worked there for years.

Did NOT meet expectations

The Camino Real hotel is supposed to be a high-end chain. Sadly, this hotel has seen better days (many moons ago). Given the extensive offer of alternatives, we would choose another hotel any time.

Excellent stop on the way south

We drive to Mexico several times a year, and always make an overnight stop at the Camino Real. It's convenient to the highway, has security, a nice restaurant, and refurbished rooms. Although somewhat dated in atmosphere it's a friendly, nice place.

Motel not Hotel

Posted Mar 13, 2013
More of a Motel than Hotel, was surprised when room 544 was 100 yards from the lobby not on the 5 floor.
