Resort hotel near Salvador Bahia, AirportPosted Sep 11, 2013
Pros: Convenience to Salvador airport.
Cons: The hotel needs a makeover.
This resort style hotel is on the beach within 10-15 minutes of the airport in Salvador, Bahia Brazil. It is a bit run down, but is undergoing renovations in the lobby area at this time (September, 2013). Rooms are average for Brazil, but clean. They advertise a flat screen TV, but it is of minimal size. There didn't appear to be any international feeds on the TV. There was no radio or clock in the room. One has to unplug one of the dim lights to plug in an other device. There was one US style outlet by the bed, inconvenient if you don't have a Brazilian style plug or adapter. The other was a Brazilian three prong plug type. 220 volts. The pool area was large, but mostly deserted. The beach can be rough when the seas are up, but the beaches in Bahia are among the best in Brazil, and this one was clean, but with few beach goers. The hotel has a security perimeter with several security people present 24/7. One pool bar with minimum offerings. The restaurant was located on the same level, but only offered a fixed buffet which wasn't tried. The lobby bar offered beer and a few mixed drinks. Not a very inviting area at all. The area of the hotel is Stella Maris. The town has a few bars and restaurants within 15 minutes walking of the hotel. No problems were had walking around at early at night, although the streets are not very well lit. There is a small Sushi restaurant with acceptable fare.

Nice hotel close to beach and close to airportPosted Aug 6, 2013
Pros: ubication, is pretty close to airport and has a private beach in front, it was a relaxing experience. Breackfast is pretty good, and also pool area.
Cons: Cleaning room. It seems that nobody is in charge of cleanning room
Location: Perfect location, it was like 15 minutes from airport
The only thing we dont like was that although was left outside the Cleaning Room request they dont clean the room. We left the room for all day and when we came at night it stills dirty.

Good option in SalvadorPosted Jun 25, 2012
Pros: Clean beach and pool
Cons: Unclean room
Location: Great calm location
We had a great experience at this hotel. The beach near the hotel was beautiful and clean. The pool area is great as well. I traveled through several cities in Brazil and they do not have great hotels. Do not expect a 4 or 5 star resort like you can find in the US or Mexico. The service was ok. The main complaint about the hotel was the room was not very clean. The bed sheets had a nasty smell. I found hairs in the shower when we arrived. I had to call for them to come clean the restroom. The hotel is just a few miles from the airport. Taxi from the airport to the hotel was approximately $40 USD. Downtown Salvador is approx. 40 minutes away from hotel. We took a shuttle service for the day. I was definitely glad we did not stay in the city center. Another plus, is the supermarket just 1 block away from the hotel. You can get snacks and stock up on water/drinks. Do not expect active nightlife. It is calm and not a ton of activities. I would stay there in the future.

We loved it!Posted Apr 24, 2012
We are Americans that live in Sao Paulo, Brazil because of my husbands job. My husband and I went to Salvador with relaxation in mind, a weekend without our kids to just do nothing! We found the hotel to be very peaceful, but has activities to do if you want to. We kept saying how much the kids would enjoy it, so we will most likely return someday with them. The beach at the resort was beautiful... if you go down at the right time in the morning you can see coral reefs and all the little critters crawling around them!! Our kids would LOVE that!! The pool is amazing and the temperature of the water was perfect!! They have a pool table, ping pong and fuse-ball... but only one of each, so you might have to wait to use it. There isn't really anything near-by the hotel as far as restaurants or sights to see, not within walking distance... so if that's what you're interested in this is not a good choice. You can take a taxi to places... for us, it was about R$50 for a 20 minute ride... which is about how long it takes to get somewhere. Over all the hotel is wonderful and we really enjoyed our stay... I'm very thankful that I didn't pay attention to the reviews that only had negative things to say!

very unorganized and coldPosted Jan 19, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel property is ok, good facilities. The main problem is management. We got there, our reservation was for double beds, they gave us a king size, after 4 of room changes, we finnaly got it. The staff really did not look happy. Several times they complaint about being overwhelmed by the lack personal to help guests. Atmosphere was cold and unfriendly, obviously if the employees are so dissatisfied with management how can they take care of the guests. Also the food was so expensive, more then normal, so if you book this hotel, try to to all inclusive here. I would not stay there again

Hotel is over rated and much too expensivePosted Jan 15, 2012 on Hotels.com
If you have enough money to burn and don't care about service...then this hotel is for you. It is a resort and self contained and far from the city life of Salvador. The staff is friendly...but not helpful. My wife and I loved the open beach and beautiful ocean. We will return to the area but not the hotel.
