awful hotel in salvador de bahia...
Posted Jan 3, 2013
Pros: nothing
Cons: every aspect of the experience could be improved
Location: very dangerous
no maintainance (at all) in the new area of the hotel, strong smell in room, poor a/c, bad illumination in halls. gym area in condition, no way I could return there. more of a cheap hostal with prices of a real luxury hotel.

Salvadore Visit
Posted Jan 9, 2012
Pros: Resort was great. Old town rich in history and culture even good shopping.
Cons: Traveling between the old town and the resort does not feel safe at night.
Location: Great resort, visit to old town would take you a day. the rest of your time just relax by the pool.
We stayed in the resort apartments. There is also a hotel as part of the property. As a property everything was outstanding. we loved the apartment , the facilities and everything. There aren't too many options outsaid of the resort and food in the resort is pretty expensive or the value. Our room included breakfast which was great. Old town is the main attraction with a lot of history. It is about 7 Kms from the resort. wandering about at night alone may not be the safest in Salvadore.

Great hotel but not in winter..
Posted Jan 5, 2012
Hotel per se is very pleasant, especially if you stay in lodge...winter (July ) is not the best month....hotel was almost empty, you walk as a ghost around...even the guy in the lobby plays his piano for nobody...the best what you can do is to book all day excursions to the island...the island Morro de Sao Paolo is dream island and definitely "must"...you can book all excursion at the lobby of hotel..

The Pestana lodge residence is particularly nice. Our room was large, and we enjoyed the balcony and great views. The infinity pool area was excellent, as was the included buffet breakfast. The property is attached to Pestana Hotel which has it's own pool area as well. No complaints.

Somewhat satisfied

The hotel is right on the beach. I found the hotel satisfactory, but my wife did not. She did not feel that our room was clean. On the other hand, I had a satisfactory experience. The breakfast was good, and I like the location of the hotel.

Nice rooms with ocean views!

I had a lovely apartment with great sea views. The staff were very friendly. The food was uninspiring. Room service was very slow and food tasted like it had been sitting around for a while, complete with soggy oven chips.
