“close to train station”

10 minutes walk from train station, if you travel by train, not the best neighborhood, but it's safe even at night. supermarket just cross the street. Old town is walkable, but bus is lot easy. Old town getting quite very early, even the main drag, the only places is open after dark are the restaurants, they're hiding either in basement or upstairs. room ls clean and quite. very good breakfast and dinning area.

“not bad!!!”

we only stayed for one night. Mozart's birthplace is within walking distance and the mirabella garden. We also enjoyed the sauna in the hotel. Not bad at all!!!

“good hotel”

nice hotel. staff very helpful with arrangments. hotel room clean and beds comfy. plenty of room, quite large for european standards. would stay again if i ever went back to austria

Getting around

the bus will take you whereever you need to go. we bought a 24 hour pass for 4euro 20. very easy to get around.

What to pack

we went in august and needed some warmer clothes on some days. we traveled from rome to austria and found the weather cooler.

most tours are very nice. they can be booked thru expedia or thru the hotel for same rates. we did a lovely mountain/ lakes tour . it included a 45 min bost ride. the scenery is lovely

“Would go back”

The hotel is on a busy street, however with the double windows it was the quietest hotel we stayed in on this trip. Missed not having a breakfast included, but other ammenities made up for lack of same. It's somewhat out of the way, but a short drive (since we had a car) to the main part of town, proved to be no problem.

“Great Hotel, Good location”

Clean Room and conveniently located. Close to trane station. Breakfast was very good. Definately stay again.

Area recommendations

The old city was wonderful. Great architecture and history. Definately recommend the Mozart Dinner at St. Peter Stifzkeller. Fine meal and fine music. We loved this city.

When to go

We went the 2nd week of September and crowds were down but the weather was great.

Must see

Mozart Dinner at the St. Peter Stifzkeller. Music performed at the location where Mozart played in a resteraunt stared in 806 AD. Great experience.

“Good”

Good hotel. The room was very small but clean and pleasant to stay in. The hotel is located about 20 minutes (by walking) from the Old Town.

“Decent hotel in Salzburg”

Hotel was good. However, they were cheap when it came to toiletries and towels. Did not replace the towel for several days until we noticed that we kept having the same towels rehung each day. Also, one small bottle of body lotion for the whole week. Air flow of hair dryer in bathroom was very weak. Overall, place was clean.

Must see

If you're a Sound of Music fan, definitely take the Panorama Sound of Music Tour. Also, the GreyLine bus tour of the Bavarian Mountains and Salt Mines is great, too. Get dessert at the Sacher Hotel.

“Great Hotel,Good location”

The room was nice with a fairly large bedroom area, separate bath and toilet and closet space. The breakfast was excellent with many choices. Location was about a 20-30 min walk to the old town (and I walk pretty fast) however the bus and tram stop is 2 mins away and 3-4 stops to the city. Department store across the street with a full market which was nice. Would definately stay there again.

When to go

I really enjoyed the ambience of the Christmas markets. Would recomend the christmas markets tour of the lakes district and the salt mine tour.

“Good value for money”

Friendly competent staff, clean and comfortable but rooms lacked information on heating controlo operation and whether airconditioning was installed and operational.
