Clean, comfortable & spacious - excellent value!Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: Comfort, traditional style and professional staff
Our stay at this hotel was so much better than expected - lovely spacious room, spotlessly clean with the most comfortable bed. The staff were exceptionally polite, friendly and helpful, without being obtrusive, very professional. It was an easy and beautiful stroll through Mirabell gardens away from the old town and centre. Excellent value for money and highly recommendable to all. Also, it had a nice traditional feel which made a pleasant change.

Pros: See above
Had a great stay at this lovely hotel in the heart of Salzburg. Everything was excellent and I could not fault the hotel. I have been in the hotel business since 1978 and am a director of 5 London hotels so I do know a good hotel when I find it

Not too farPosted Nov 5, 2014
Good hotel with parking in back. Walk to old Town takes about 20 minutes. Walk from Augustiner Brewery is about 12 minutes. Check in was quick. Staff friendly. We did not get breakfast as we needed to be on our way. For two Mozart balls on our bed, which was great. Liked the separate toilet and bathroom.

Clean, comfortable with good locationPosted Oct 27, 2014
This hotel was just a quick few block walk from the Salzburg Train Station and an easy 10- 15 minute walk to Old Town. For us, the location was perfect. It was situated far enough from the train station to not be too loud (plus there were double paned windows on the rooms making them very quiet when shut), but it was quick and easy to walk there with our bags upon arrival. This hotel was very clean, safe, and the hotel staff all spoke wonderful English and were quite friendly and helpful. Our double room came complete with a spacious bathroom, great shower, cute reindeer pillows accenting our clean linens and perfectly made bed, a Mozart chocolate on our pillows, and small refrigerator. There is staff at the desk 24 hours a day which make late night or early morning arrivals easy. For us the ONLY drawback of this hotel was that it did not include breakfast with the room price. Breakfast was a varied buffet with lots of great choices and cost 12 euros a person. Though hearty and plentiful, we found it expensive to pay over $30 US dollars for the same breakfast we had been served for 3 weeks all over Europe for free (or included in the room price). On our first morning we tried the breakfast, on our second morning we made use of the refrigerator in our room.

Best hotel ever!Wished we could have stayed longerPosted Oct 4, 2014
Pros: Absolutely everything- clean, spacious, comfortable, excellent free wifi; good restaurant next door.
Loved the tasteful classic decor in harmony with the city. Good location near train station. Got City Card for transport to more distant places such as Hellbrunn and Untersberg cable car and lift up to Fortress right at hotel's front desk. Went to check out the gym and sauna and though we had no time to use facility it was absolutely beautiful and spotless; very inviting. Restaurant in rear had good regional food. Breakfast buffet was also very good.

Great location to the main train station!Posted Aug 25, 2014
Cons: We did not feel overly welcome, just tolerated.
The hotel is charming and clean. It is also very close to the main train station as well as the old center of town. The staff was very efficient and offered a lovely breakfast for 12 Euro's.

This is a clean and ok hotel but the pictures make it look high-end, trendy and much nicer than it really is. It's on a relatively busy road and an area that is far enough from the Salzburg city center to make you forget you are in Salzburg.

Good choice in SalzburgPosted Aug 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
There is a good cost-benefit ratio. We had the suprior room, but if I went againI would go with the standard room. The superior room did not seem particularly large, though the bathroom was huge and had a radio. The room had an Austrian style double bed (two single mattresses) and an arm chair, which was not quite as described. The room was nice and hotel is well kept. Did not eat at hotel, though dinner menu looked nice and very reasonably priced (traditional Austrian menu). Within walking distance of the old town - lovely walk along the river Salzach (15 min, all flat). Taxi fare from Salzburg airport was <15 Euros in heavy traffic.

Situated on an ordinary street - no particular view from our room. Easy walk to Mirabel Gardens and then on to Old Town. Bus stop very near. Good breakfast, pleasant staff. Bar and restaurant, we didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked well patronised. Facilities clean and adequate. Although on a busy street, we were not affected by traffic noise.
