“Extremely impressed”
Small hotel not far from the center of Salzburg. Very cozy, comfortable, and charming.
“Nice hotel”
Belmondo is nice. It's about a 10 minute walk from the main train station - or you can take the bus. The bus is very convenient - it's about a 10 minute or so ride to the old center of town by the river. We ate dinner one night at the restaurant on the hotel's back patio - I recommend it. Very good salads and pizza. There is also a nice pastry and coffee shop next door for breakfast. As others have mentioned, you'll want to open the windows to get some fresh air, but you can't for long because the street noise is so loud.
“Hope to be back!”
Good location....close to train station....close to the center of Salzburg.... city Map and broshures available. Breakfast Buffet was good, but expensive. Friendly staff. Computer in lobby was down.....Wi-Fi would have been nice.
“Decent if on a budget”
I would only recommend this hotel if you're on a budget. The hotel is a walk from the sights (about 1km), but the walk is pleasant and quite scenic down the path along the river. The hotel can be very noisy and we heard people coming in and talking loudly in the stairwell at 2am. Also, the pillows are absolutely horrible. Aside from that, the staff was pleasant, but I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here again if I wasn't looking for something cheap and clean.
“Never have I ever slept in a more comfortable bed before”
This hotel had not one of the best but the best bed I've ever slept in. Which was great after walking all day. Which by the way is only 5-10 minutes walking distance alone the river to the city center and just down the street from the train station. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaints are that the hotel is alone a busy street so you won't get complete silence. But you probably won't mind because you will be sound asleep in that amazing bed, lol. And the breakfast was way to expense for just some bagels fruit and slices of ham and cheese. Other than that nice location, nice hotel, and nice staff.
“One night in SZG”
Hotel was a bit difficult to find if you want to walk from the railway station. Grocery store is very far away. Hotel furnishing really fits 3,5 stars, not 4 stars as stated in hotel description.
“Small, Hot and Tired”
Definitely disappointed with the disparity between the internet pictures/reviews and the reality of staying at this hotel. It is convenient to the train station, and not a bad walk into the old town, but other than that, it is hard to think of something positive about this hotel experience. Room was small (even by European standards), HOT (and seemingly incapable of adjustment) and tired (worn carpet, older furnishings). The neighborhood was slightly sketchy (wouldn't want to stay there if traveling alone). Staff was not particularly helpful.
“Belmondo Hotel”
The hotel room was on the smaller size, but nicely decorated. The bathroom and room were very clean and the bed was comfortable. The room I stayed in was very loud. I woke up several times during the night due to this fact. Also, it was snowing out and although I had the heater on the highest setting, my room was quite chilly. Breakfast is in a very nice setting, with a good selection of food. However, it is way overpriced.
“Nice, but...”
Compact but well-appointed room. Traffic noise all night from the busy street below.
“Nice place to stay in Salzburg”
nice sized rooms. full hotel service. 15 minute walk along river into city centre. close to train and bus stations.
