Great hotel in Salzburg

Pros: I liked the location, as it was half way between the train station and the old city. It was a short 5 to 10 minute walk through Mirabell Park.
Cons: As mentioned earlier, I believe the hotel needs to be refurbished. The hallways and the room look a bit dreary. I was still happy here though.
Location: Everything you need to do in Salzburg is a short walk away. You will not need a car here.
My family and l really enjoyed staying at this hotel. They really went out of their way to take care of us. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and provided us with excellent directions on what to do in Salzburg. The breakfast was also exceptional as well. My kids really enjoyed it. The two rooms were able to each accomodate 3 beds formy family, and everything was in order when I arrived. We slept well at night, though the beds could have been a bit more comfortable. I had a car, so they made it easy by providing me parking, though it does cost you 20 Euro a day, which is standard in Austria. Also, I believe the hotel needs to spend some money on refurbishing the hallways as the carpet has seen better days. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the hotel, the value, and the staff. I would definitely stay here again.

Staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. New sky terrace restaurant was good. Rooms great size and bathroom also great size and good blow dryer

Good Hotel, Close to the Old Town

Hotel was good. Except Rooms on 5th Floor had no lift and 5th Floor being renovated.

Liebe Familie, es tut uns leid, dass wir Ihren Ansprüchen nicht gerecht werden konnten. Wir haben nun extra zusätzlicjhe schöne Familienzimmer mit einem Aufschlag von 70 Euro zur Staqndard Zimmer Rate im Programm, die ideal sind für eine 4-köpfige Familie und in jedem Fall günstiger als 2 Zimmer. Der Frühstücksraum fast 160 Personen und kann natürlich nicht alle 250 Gäste auf einmal aufnehmen. Bei starker Belegung macht es daher Sinn, etwas früher zum Frühstück zu gehen, dann ist der Andrang gerade an dn Wochenenden nicht so groß. Es gibt wirkliuch kaum ein Hotel ab 200 Zimmerjn, welches Restaurant mit 300 oder mehr Plätzen anbieten kann. Daher wird Ihnen in gut gebuchten Hotels dies immer wieder passieren. Trotzdem tut es mir leid, wenn Sie ihr Frühstück nicht genießen konnten. Herzlichst, Ihr Martin Gissel - General Manager

Nahe Mirabell _ im Umbau

Alles ist im Umbau, aber man kann schon ahnen, dass es wohl modern und trotzdem gemütlich sein wird. Man gibt sich viel Muehe nicht zu stören. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Werter Peter, wir dank en Ihnen für Ihre sehr gute Bewertung und für Ihre Einschätzung im Bezug auf den Umbau. Wir sind nun fast fertig in den Gästebereichen. Leider verzögert sich noch der Bau des neuen Fitnessbereiches mit der Sauna bis März 2015, wir bieten aber alternativ die Nutzung des in der Nähe gelegenen Parcelsius Bades an. Unser neues IMLAUER Sky Bar & Restaurant ist nun geöffnet und unsere Gäste erfreuen sich am wunderbaren Ausblick auf die Stadt bereits beim Frühstück. Great hotel close to Mirabell Gardens!

I've stayed at this hotel twice and loved each time. There were complimentary apples at the front desk and tea and coffee in our room. The beds were very comfortable and we had a nice bathroom. Front desk customer service was great. The Mirabell Gardens are just a few blocks away as well as Panaram Tours that have the Sound of Music bus tour.

Small but clean rooms

Overall the stay was fine. There is nothing the hotel could do about the construction work outside. The room was small and the shower head was in the middle of the bathtub and was directed toward the shower curtain which was not waterproof. Other than that oddity, the room was clean and the staff were friendly.

Very nice, very comfortable

Based on what I had read about this hotel -- both from hotels.com and from other sources -- I had high expectations for this hotel. My wife and I were very comfortable here, and the the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They staff were able to answer all our New-to-Salzburg questions with no trouble at all, as well as exchanging currency for us. The room was quite well styled with a Baroque theme, but the mattress of the bed was certainly not an ancient, uncomfortable relic. Normally we encounter very hard mattresses in Europe, simply because hotels accommodate the demand for hard mattresses. But at the Crowne Plaza the mattress was refreshingly soft by comparison. We would surely stay here again, given the opportunity to return to Salzburg.
