Nice, cozy and nostalgia hotel. It feels like a home. It seems the hotel is family-owned. They are very friendly. Breakfast is great. Room is very clean. Price is reasonable. Hotel sits very close to the central train station, where you can hop on any bus to go anywhere. Quite a lot of restaurants and grocery stores are near by, and I love it. I plan to stay in this hotel again in my next trip to Salzburg. Highly recommend this hotel.

Small family run hotel in residential area very close to the station. Easy short walk to the city centre. Clean large rooms with welcoming staff. Generous breakfast with excellent coffee. Ideal for a city break.

Perfect short stay in Salzburg
Great stay. I arrived late but was till able to get a beer and water. Room was clean and comfortable and large and had a personality! Breakfast was the best value I can remember for many years. No hot food but plenty of cold choices and all for just 6 euros! Will stay again if in Salzburg.

The hotel is a bit tired/old fashion. The free parking is convenient for us that traveled by car. The staff isn’t the most smiling one but it’s often the caset in Austria. The breakfast is really average could have more fruits, viennoiserie etc. Overall for the price it’s not amazing just ok. But all hotels seem expensive in Salzburg.

Convenient hotel close to HBF train station, and close to restaurants and grocery. Very friendly staff and accommodating. Good quality breakfast at a great price. Somewhat dated interior but clean and neat. Highly recommend.

Stepping back in time, in a wonderful way!
What a fabulous little gem right by the main train station in Salzburg! We just stayed 1 night to split up a longer journey to Vienna and see a little of Salzburg, so we wanted a clean, safe place near the train station and didn't have high expectations or needs in this case, however we were very pleasantly surprised by the Hotel Hohenstauffen, where I would definitely have stayed longer if the need arose. It is 5 min walk from the station, yet feels safe and quiet, which isn't always the case near train stations. The staff members were all friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is very dated, but in a good way, as though we'd stepped back in time rather than feeling old and run-down. Everything was very clean and well-kept, and you can tell the family who runs this place has put a lot of effort into keeping it nice over the years. They include breakfast, which was ample to get your day started right. The room was very comfortable, with modern amenities and plumbing, even though the furnishings look practically antique. Both my husband & I fell in love with this place and would definitely stay again on another trip to Salzburg. Highly recommend it!

We only stayed here for one night but we were very pleased with our experience. We chose the hotel based on its proximity to the train station so that we didn't have to walk very far with our luggage. It is a quaint little hotel and the staff were very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to help us with anything we needed. We will be staying here again if we are ever in the area.

Absolutely love this family run hotel. The best service and friendly staff. Frauer Reichl remembered me from my last visit with them. I can rave enough about this hotel. Clean, quiet and safe and always willing to help and have the best knowledge on what and how to get to and see things. This is now my go to hotel for Salzburg.

Great hotel - convenient position.
Stayed for one night while on a train trip through Austria. It was close to the station and an easy walk into town. The place was really nice, super friendly staff, and a fine breakfast. It has a lovely old-world feel to it. I would definitelt go back - as Salzburg is always worth another visit.

Dated but quirky, and very clean.
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. If you want modern this is not for you. It is very dated but has some quirky decor. But having said this, the hotel is very clean with a lovely continental breakfast. The owners were friendly and it served our purpose. The only down side for me was there was no tea/coffee facility in the room as I love a cup of tea early before breakfast.

The hotel has been in the family for several generations. Although it’s not a modern and updated hotel it has a total charm…lots of antiques and old fashioned yet attractive furnishings…comfortable bed and quiet room which gave us an absolutely perfect sleep…great breakfast..and lastly, the staff…really lovely people! Stay here, it’s a treat!!

After experiencing several properties over the years this hotel has been the best and will now be my go to hotel from now on. They go out of their way to help customers no matter the issue and even during this time of Covid tried to find a local testing center that was open on Christmas Day so I could be compliant to return home. Unfortunately testing center to far so they were able to accommodate me for an extra couple days. All staff including the cleaning staff were friendly and made me feel welcome. Extremely happy with my stay and highly recommend to anyone including families.

Great owner and hotel
The owner was an excellent host and was very insightful on the local happenings in the area. When asked if you want the Salzburg Card, get it. It saved so much money. The rooms were spacious and quant. There was free breakfast and parking was also free. There is a separate dining room for after the day drinks. Great value and close to everything you want to see.

The Staff were very friendly. Daily cleaning was great. The only big thing I had wrong is that the hotel is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. There was a door at the end of the hallway with a wing window over top. Someone would go out and smoke and it could be smelled in the room and especially the hallway. Other than that, it was great!
