“Hotel Schoene Aussicht a hit!!”

OK, the hotel is a out of the city of Salzburg, but it is certainly worth the view, the quiet and friendliness of the staff. The hotel has a pool which was very refreshing during the 90 plus degree weather during our stay. Internet access is free but from the lobby not the rooms. A rental car is a must! We found that even though you had to drive from the hotel to the city center, the cost of parking in one of the many parking garages in the city was less expensive than city hotels would charge for overnight parking. It was simply convenient. A GPS is very helpful and recommended. The hotel staff even pointed out some tips for parking in the city - very helpful! It cools down very nicely in the evening during the hot days that we were there (early July), so we were able to open our windows and sleep quite comfortably. We simply enjoyed the experience and would go again. The price during our stay was very reasonable and we would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Salzburg.

“Beuatiful view but horrible service”

We stayed at this hotel for two days. It was adequate, at best. It was difficult to find, and the rooms were the smallest I'd ever stayed in. The bathrooms were tiny, and the atmosphere was dim. The desk staff was helpful, but I would definitely not recommend the restaurant staff, at all. I found the meals to be overpriced and small. The restaurant staff was horrible, slow, and extremely inattentive. I simply was not impressed. Of all of the hotels I have booked with Expedia over the years, this was absolutely the worst.

“Hilltop in Salzburg”

This hotel provides an incredible view of Salzburg. The staff are polite and friendly. If you plan to eat dinner in the Hotel Restaurant, I would suggest putting in a reservation the day before or early in the morning. There was an event that evening on the terrace (which is really beautiful to enjoy a Tea or Coffee in the afternoon or evening) and we weren't able to have dinner that day.... Breakfast is nicely presented with a variety of choices from the continental buffet. WiFi, although available, is limited to the central staircase and Foyer area. Performance is good in the Foyer area but slower on the second floor area where it's wirelessly repeated. We enjoyed our stay and would return to this hotel in a heartbeat.

“An excellent hotel away from the hustle and bustle of downtown”

Lovely views from all rooms. Be aware that this is a walk up hotel. Renovations going on while there. No noise or durt from the workers. Internet access is only available on the ground floor. The resturant was excellent but a little pricy. Please note that the hotel is on a hill with a narrow, winding road to get there. It's worth the drive. Another guest who was staying there while we were had trouble getting some taxis to take them up the hill. If not using a rental vehicle, keep this in mind. The hotel is about 15 minutes from old town.

“Incredible view, wonderful staff, needs renovation and maybe a minivan.”

I would rate this hotel quite high on hotel service (an 8 or 9). The people here are very helpful, give them the respect they deserve and they will treat you extremely well. As I write the review they are upgrading their wireless, so in the meantime they may assist some guests by providing them with a small modem, which BTW is pretty decent. The guy at the reception went to the extent as to find some information I was looking for about "Eagle's Nest" which is not very far from here and I was planning to visit on my second day in the area. The hotel itself may need some renovations, so on a scale of 1-10 I would give it only a 5, the rooms are a bit unkept and rug needs replacement, rooms are quite small but this is rather the norm in Europe. I would say for my American visitors to bring all the adapters you need as nothing here has the regular America's outlets (but that should be expected).

“Made our stay in Salzburg more peaceful, enjoyable & welcoming!”

This hotel is older but the view of Salzburg is well worth the trade-off. We enjoy being off the main thoroughfares and Schoene Aussicht provided that level of peace & quiet. The Hotel employees were very accomodating, spoke English fluently and extremely helpful. We decided to try out their Hotel Restaurant for dinner on our first night and what a tasteful, well presented, pleasant surprise. The wine selections of local Austrian wines were a hit.

“Sound of Music location”

The greenery around the hotel will remind you of the "Sound of Music." Pay to get a balcony room with a view of the city if you stay here as it is on a hill and well worth it. Breakfast is excellent and desk personel very helpful. Bear in mind the rooms are on the small side (although very clean), and YOU CANNOT WALK to this hotel with bags (it's about 1 mile on severe uphill grade)...so a car is recommended or plan on cabs to town (appr. $25 each way)...enjoy!

“Great View but make sure you understand what you are getting”

The hotel is spotless. The service was warm and attentive. The hotel is also very outdated. The bath was new but the bedroom furnishings were quite old. No elevator and many rooms are on second floor. Was very quiet when we were there. No air conditioning but not a problem. Would definitely stay again.

“Salzburg Surrounding Areas”

Hotel condition and cleanliness were average. View of city was wonderful. That is what made the hotel for me. Staff was great. Breakfast was good. Don't forget to use the separate sauna room. Nice and private for couples.
