“You can't go wrong with this hotel”

We were very satisfied with the Hotel. It buts up against the Mirabel garden and is with in an easy (10 minute) walk of the old city. The neighborhood is clean and safe. We were treated well by the staff at the Hotel; they were very courteous and helpful in answering questions and arranging transportation for us to the air port on the day of our departure. I would recommend this hotel with out hesitation to anyone going to Salzburg.

Area recommendations

Definitely visit the old city; checkout the fortress, the Mozart birth house, and the Getreidegasse (shopping area). For a cheap good meal visit the Fish Kreig restaurant.

“Excellent accommodations for a Salzburg visit”

We have stayed at many hotels in Austria and Salzburg over the years and this Sheraton was a wonderful place to stay. The location is very convenient and the facilities were wonderful. Parking a rental car was also convenient and the breakfast was great. You may have to pay extra for those items if you don't include them in your package but the price they charge, which seems high for Americans, is actually on par with other hotels. We would definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit to Salzburg.

Area recommendations

Highly recommend you visit the salt mine. This was a very fun tour for the kids. We also visited the ice caves and that was very neat but be prepared for a vigorous hiking day. I don't know if I would book any lake and mountain trips, which we did, until you know what the weather is going to be. Our hoped summer visit to the mountains turned out to be a cold and rainy day and we changed our plans.

Events and shows

The sound of music tour is nice and the available dinner show was entertaining but this is not something I would recommend you do with kids.

“Salzburg Sheratorn”

The location of this hotel is perfect on the edge of the garden. We walked through the garden to the old town everyday - takes 10 minutes. There were a number of cafe's one block from the hotel that served a great breakfast for under 10 Euros. The only drawback was paying for internet access. The staff were warm, friendly, and very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

“Will go back again!”

Very good location. Only 10' walk to the old part of the city and next to the Mirabel Gardens. There was public parking next to the hotel which was free over the weekend. The two rooms we booked were connected and were much bigger than expected given the room standards in Europe. Would go back there again!

Area recommendations

Old city is great to visit. Also, take the tour and climb the mountains of the Sound of Music (that was fun!).

nice location, pleasant staff, easy to get from train station (would appreciate concise directions for how to navigate out of station to the main street towards town and hotel), comfortable room and amenities, walking distance to gardens and old town

“By far the best value in the trip”

After passing thru several kind of nice hotels in Germany and Slovenia this Sheraton was like an oasis for the entire trip. Good service, superb accomodations (unbeatable for the price) and only 15 minutes walk from the main area of Salzburg where everything happens. Definitely a good choice.

“Perfect Stay”

Terrific location. Easy walk to everywhere in very good neighborhood. More excellant restaurants within a few blocks than we could ever frequent. Super service from very professional and friendly staff. Very nice large comfortable room with breathtaking view on 4th floor. We were very happy with our two day stay and would welcome a chance to return. Somewhat expensive but well worth it. A real value ina luxury hotel.
