Good value

Posted Aug 13, 2014
We were upgraded to a larger room, because it was the low season. The rooms were fine--not fancy--but comfortable and clean. In the US this would be closest to a Best Western. The pool was great. It is close to the road, but we didn't find it to be too noisy.

Weekend Getaway

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Wonderful staff, great location and value for the money are the big plusses .
Cons: TVs are ANCIENT and need replacement. TV programs are terrible. They need good cable TV programs which are available. Owners refuse to do this !!.
Location: Good restaurants, great beaches across the street from hotel. Nice sightseeing with beautiful drive to Samana only 40 min.
We live in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and spend about 1 weekend a month in Las Terrenas. This hotel is our home away from home in Las Terrenas.

It was good. There was too much mosquitoes. And the last day we had a problem with the water and it smell.

Lovely hotel, great location

Posted May 23, 2014
Pros: Location, staff, nice breakfast, free wi-fi. Close to bus station drop off for Las Terrenas.
Location: Playa Terrernas, walking distance to El Pueblo de Pescadores (lovely strip of nice restaurants on the beach), located 40 mins from Salto de Limon.
We were very happy with our stay at this "aparthotel." It is an apartment: outdoor sitting area, kitchenette, seating area, large bedroom (with ample storage), and nice bathroom. We stayed here for a week and loved the location as well. The service at the hotel was very good - friendly staff.

Courteous and friendly staff.

Grounds were beautiful colonial style architecture. Across the street was the beach! Very easy access - very hectic noisy area due to bikes frequently passing by. Overall great stay for the money. El limon falls is a 30 mins away!

Great place -- with one drawback

Posted Apr 28, 2014
Our apartment was huge and very clean and well-maintained. Grounds were immaculate, the pool was great, and staff was helpful. The one drawback was the hotel's location on the main road through town, which meant the noise of motorbikes going by was nearly ubiquitous. Getting an apartment in the back of the property will help, but you will still have the noise when you are at the pool or having breakfast on the terrace in front. You also have to cross this main road to get to the beach, which can be a bit harrowing until you get the hang of it, and the beach right in front of the hotel is also very close to the road (walk a few hundred yards in either direction for a better beach experience)

perfect vacation

This is a perfect beach hotel, right accross the street to the beach, very clean, impecable service, nice pool, very nice room with large sitting areas, balconies, fully equipped kitchens and ice bathroom. Reasonable priced and good breakfast included, walking distance from good restaurants and very safe surroundings, some of the best beaches and water in the world. This is not a four seasons but for a hotel in this area and this country this is one of the best, I've been to many resorts in this country and b far this is one of the best. You will not be disappointed, great for kids, families and lovers.

Excellent location

We were looking for a quality location close to beaches and town amenities. The Albachiara is right on the beach and close to many restuarants, stores, etc. This is a great location if you are looking to be away from the large all-inclusives and want to get a better feel for the local culture. The beaches are fabulous and everything you need is within walking distance. The room was clean and had a well equiped, functional kitchen. The pool and hotel grounds are very nice. The staff was friendly, helpful and professional. A great Dominican location for anyone looking for a more self-catered holiday.
