Great Marina side hotelPosted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: This hotel was perfect . It doesn't have that overwhelmed size of a large hotel, yet it gave you a spacious feel. The view of the marina was wonderful
Cons: The hotel bars are nice for drinks. However i would rather take a trip into town for eating.
Location: The reason for our stay at this hotel was a planned trip to one of the most beautiful beaches of the Dominican Republic Cayo Levantado.
While searching for a hotel to stay near one of our favorite beaches in the Dominican republic, we found the Bannister hotel. It's located about 5 kilometers from the main shopping area of Samana. It's perfectly tuck away and not to far from the local shops or restaurants.

Deluxe Hotel with MarinaPosted Feb 2, 2015
Samana is fairly remote but tends to attract tourists during whale season (late January to March). There are few deluxe hotel options in the area (unless you travel to Las Terrenas). The Hotel Bannister is the exception. The Hotel is quiet with a great view of the water. A number of boats sail in and dock at the Marina, which adds to the charm. The staff was attentive and there were two excellent restaurants and a bar on site. If you are looking to relax in comfort, this is a top notch hotel. We were in the area on business but I would return for a vacation as well.

Relaxing timePosted Feb 1, 2015
Pros: Service / Suite was very comfortable.
Cons: Food at the breakfast restaurant.
My sister and I stayed at The Bannister for 4 days. It was great. A bit quiet but the service and staff were great. I would stay here again.

Third Year of our excellent experiencePosted Jan 20, 2015
Pros: Luxury and tranquility
Location: Day trip to Cayo Levantado
For us it was third year in a row we celebrate our anniversary at this wonderful place, enjoying whole week at the end of December. And we highly recommend The Bannister Hotel for everyone who desires luxury and tranquil time for themselves. This is truly high end place starting from overall architectural look and ending with the quality of linens on your bed. For the all duration of your stay you’ll feel welcome and important. Service always there, anticipating your needs, but not intrusive. Property consist of The Bannister Hotel, Marina and Private Villas with round the clock security. No strangers allowed at all. Only guests. Two restaurants, Café Del Mar and Regata, provides good variety of food and drinks. You can also have your ordered meal to be delivered to your room if you wish. Minimart is also helpful to fill your fridge with snacks and beverages. Keep in mind that this is Hotel, not an all inclusive resort. You have to pay for your meal. Fully equipped kitchen is very helpful for morning coffee. There is no beach on the property, but there are two infinity pools. One on the second floor of the Hotel, another at Café Del Mar where you can swim in an ocean as well. We enjoyed swimming in the ocean every day at Café Del Mar. There is a tour agency “Escape Samana” right in the lobby where you can book several excursions from deep sea fishing to horse back riding. Oliver and Natalie will help you to choose. We had booked a wonderful day trip to Cayo Levantado on

Very nice. Needs to brush up a bit to really be considered 5 star service, but has all the ingredients if they keep on trying......

Excelente hotelPosted Jan 4, 2015 on Hotels

It was great! The only downside is you need a rental car to go anywhere.

Great hotel.Posted Dec 23, 2014 on Hotels
Hotel was great, staff was friendly, we were greeted by a glass of Cava, refreshing! We tried out both restaurants and the food was great, except for the over use of butter!! The only con I'd say about this hotel is the location, you'd need a rental car, or the only other option is to take taxi every where!
