“Pleasant hotel with helpful staff and good restaurant”

We stayed at the Azimut three different times within three months. The rooms were always clean, and the staff was very helpful, despite the fact that we speak no Russian, and most of them very little English. There is a restaurant in the building with a good menu (in Russian and English) for dinner, and a nice breakfast in the morning. The hotel has a very historical feel, as it was once a government building. It is located near a street with many shops and street vendors, and near several restaurants. It is a pleasant 10-minute stroll to the Volga River.

“Ok for on the cheap”

If your on business and just need a room then the Azimut would suffice. If you will have friends in your room then go with something larger. This room is really small. It was clean. The water pressure and temperature varied daily from lukewarm and no pressure to hot and high pressure. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful!! The motel itself was built before the revolution I believe and is in need of updating. The rooms were more up to date than in the hallways.
