Maintenance is a constant part of our operations, and after being closed for almost 3 years we are still working on catching up to a normal level. We also apologize that the free breakfast items we offer were not adequate for you. A Continental breakfast typically does not include any warm meal, however we do offer many different cooked dishes which can be purchased. The water in the taps at Coconuts is filtered and treated on site, so it is safe to drink. In an effort to cut down on plastic waste, we encourage guests to refill empty bottles for reuse.We value your feedback, and do use it to make improvements wherever possible. Talofa Vernon. We are very sorry that you had such a disappointing experience with us. It was very unfortunate that the booking you made specified a room with a single + double bed, when you had preferred to get a king bed. Sometimes our guests inadvertently make booking arrangements that were not intended, and we try to offer options or solutions when this happens. In this case since it was such a busy time, we didn't have another room in the Treehouse with a king bed available. Otherwise we would have gladly changed the room for you. All our facilities are currently open, as we continue to perform maintenance or improvement projects (always being mindful to minimize the impact on our guests). You are correct that first impressions are important, and we are sorry that you were disappointed as soon as you arrived. But we are happy to hear that you found a better match elsewhere. Talofa dear Guest. Thank you for staying with us, and for sharing your experience through this review. Yes we do have wifi available, but it is not free (nor advertised as such). Getting a local SIM card is a good option for those travelers that plan to be online a lot, and only from a mobile device. You are correct about the tours that we offer, there is a 2 person minimum, along with a 3 hour minimum. Sometimes solo travelers get friendly with other guests, and can join in a tour with them so that can help keep costs down to the standard per person rate. We are sorry that you had some noise issues from neighboring guests. Most of the time everyone is considerate and quiet. The individual fales offer a little more isolation from other guests compared to our Treehouse or Coco Suite rooms. We are glad that you had an enjoyable time, but we wish that it would have been even better. Fa'afetai lava, and tofa soifua from all of our staff!

You are correct, there are no phones or TVs in the rooms, and these are just a few of the things that makes Coconuts different from most other hotels. The idea started almost 30 years ago, Coconuts was a place to really relax and get away from the daily busy routines that so many people have. Since then, it's become even more important for most people to take a break from the all consuming electronic devices in our lives once in a while. This is in fact a marketing point for us, and we proudly advertise this on our home page. A word about our free Continental breakfast; hopefully you were advised by our reception staff when you checked in, that you had the option to get the free Continental breakfast or free Mini Bar beverages each day. If the contents (listed on the info sheet that you signed) of our free Continental breakfast weren't to your liking, then maybe the free Mini Bar beverages would have been a better choice for you. BTW, the coffee in our restaurant is fresh brewed from ground coffee beans in a percolator. We are glad that you included many details in your review, as that helps us understand things better. In closing it's apparent that Coconuts was simply not the right match for you, which is unfortunate for both you and us. Tofa soifua.
