Hotel with potential

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Bar staff were friendly, interested and shared information. Staff at breakfast very attentive although didn't tell us all the options available
Cons: Initial customer service, information in room on services. Address loud music from neighbouring property.
Location: Near the flea market and fish markets
Marketed as the top hotel in Apia. Customer service on arrival was disappointing, no directions given left us wandering around in search of room, had to go back as room key didn't work and then again to find out breakfast details, no information in the room about any of the hotel facilities. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night and didn't sleep well whether either night due to noise -loud music from neighbouring property until 1230am, on the Saturday night police were sat in the courtyard talking all evening which, after the music stopped, then ensured we remained away even after asking them to be quiet.

Tusi Tala Hotel Apia Samoa

Pros: Location is good and within walking distance of Apia CBD.
Cons: Communication between staff /shifts. ( The ability for incoming staff/shift to refer to prior arrangement or undertaking)
Location: There on business so did not explore leisure activities.
A very pleasant stay and staff very accommodating. Communication between shifts can be challenging as several requests arranged during the day were not followed through by Evening shift so does pay to check on certain requests such as wake up calls, transfers and bookings. Not uncommon for the islands. Overall rooms were tidy and our stay pleasant. Staff at restaurant and bar friendly and helpful.

Kick back in the sunshine

Posted Feb 9, 2014
Pros: As above.
Cons: Air conditioning unit quite noisy at night
Location: Swimming, snorkelling over the other side of the harbour, good walking trips around town and the seawall.
Pleasant and enjoyable surroundings with nice spacious eating areas and relaxing atmosphere around the pool and lobby entrance. Loved my week stay on a working holiday. The room was very clean and comfortable, it was just so hot even the air conditioning unit was sweating !

Tusitalia in Apia

Pros: Happy Hour
Cons: Everything - its not saveable
Location: While central, the options for eating are very limited.
Hmmm, This is regarded as one of the best hotels in town, and charges like it. For a westerner this is barely a 3 star hotel.
