Motel Not HotelPosted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: The front desk clerk was very nice and helpful.
I arrived to find out that all the rooms have outdoor entries like a motel. I prefer a hotel with indoor entries. Also the room was a smoking room and I requested a non-smoking room. The room reeked of smoke. The front desk person gave me a spray to use and I went back to the room and saw a big dead bug on the floor. I did not stay at the hotel because of this experience.

wasn't sure when I first checked inPosted Nov 19, 2013
Pros: It was better than the cheapest alternatives.
Cons: Some personality at the front desk and interest in guests' comforts would be appreciated.
Location: beside TX Roadhouse, easy to get to many fast food and casual restaurants plus mall. Starbucks is a bit further away but was on my way to the college
the desk clerk didn't seem too inclined to share info. Outside access to rooms. Lots of trucks in parking lot - semis - and at first was afraid there would be a party going on in the parking lot but quieted down nicely. Best feature is Texas Roadhouse across the parking lot. Room was comfortable but way overpriced when compared to any other hotel I've paid $XXX a night for. Am told that is because of oil workers in area. ALL decent hotels are overpriced and wouldn't recommend staying in one of the cheaper ones. Was much quieter during weekend part of stay. Bed was good but old leather (plastic?) recliner wasn't the most comfortable. I did feel safe enough but in comparison, stayed at a Hyatt House in Dallas for $XX (corporate rate) and had full kitchen, nice couch, great bed, and bath, big closet, the next week. Just expect high pricer for lower quality hotels. Close to mall and easy to get around town though....

We did not get what we paid for!Posted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: The check in staff.
Cons: Everything physical.
Location: The mall is close. There are three named restaurants nearby.
Way too much room rate for what we got. This was a 1970's walk to your room from outside "no-tell motel". The walkway was covered in indoor/outdoor soggy carpet, it had rained. going cheap, because we used twice as much. The tub was patched an eerie. The towels were dingy, thin and we only got two of each in a room that would sleep at least four. The check in staff was nice and friendly, but they could not make up for all the short comings of this way over priced room. The "BIG" breakfast, consisted of cold dry scrambled eggs, dry patty sausage, dry biscuits and gravy in a crockpot. There was bread for toast, some muffins, watery juice, water thin coffee, good cook yourself waffles (the only good thing), but the syrup was in pour from home containers and had a very cheap taste. The jellies were old and discolored (probably outdated). There were no knives and when I asked for some the lady told me to look where I had already looked. She came in to double check before she went to get knives. I would not recommend this motel to anyone unless it was priced very cheap and you only need a place to sleep and shower.

Never Again !!!!Posted Aug 29, 2013
Pros: Check out time
Cons: Quality customer service - Replace staff
Location: Best Western - San Angelo TX
- I had to change rooms because A/C did not work, minor inconvenience - Hotel iron appliance severely stained my business slacks - Called front office about situation then requested a functional iron be delivered to my room as soon as possible due to a scheduled business meeting. - Received phone call from front desk stating we do not have an extra iron for you to use. Are you kidding me???? I just dropped $175.00 for a one night stay and this is the response I get??? - I called back 15 minutes later, now they have one but they cannot deliver it to my room, "I cannot leave the front desk" as though I was ordering a pizza or something. I asked coud someone from house keeping bring it up? She said - Upon walking in the hotel lobby to pick up the iron I noticed the hotel representative sitting/relaxing in the guest TV area with the housekeeping staff. WOW! I can clearly see that customers don't come first at this place. They also don't come back.

Nasty place for the price!Posted Aug 26, 2013
Pros: it was close to highway, close to IHOP, the pool seemed decent.
Cons: new carpets, new tub and shower, lower the shower head, fix the drains, provide some decent pillows.
Location: close to hwy, IHOP, Mcdonalds, shopping and theatre close by. San Angelo is not that big, but the street names are very confusing.
When we arrived the desk staff seemed a bit rude. They were having trouble with somebody and seemed to be rude to everybody else. The room seemed fair at first glance, but it was quite nasty. The carpet was horrible, but the worst part was an old nasty bathtub that would not drain. The shower was so high up that it was quite a reach and needed adjusting a lot. The beds were fair as far as comfort. Never paid so much in my life for such a nasty room, but found that in San Angelo, your choices are quite limited. And the water is really bad, be sure to bring bottled water!

Nice hotel, very clean and spacious.Posted Jul 15, 2013
Cons: The pool could have been a little bit cleaner, but it was fun.
Location: It was close to everything.
Next to food and shopping. Everything about this hotel was great. First time we have ever stayed at a best western, but most defiantly going to book here on our next trip to San Angelo.

This hotel was close to most businesses.Posted Jul 14, 2013
Pros: Beds reasonably comfortable and usually very quiet.
Cons: Firm and soft pillows.
Location: It was very centrally located. Across the highway is everything from the mall to restaurants. My kids live 5 minutes away.
We stayed there during a wedding in San Angelo and a family reunion. During the early evening it was pretty noisy by the pool but that was to be expected. By the time we came back to the room around 11:00, it was perfectly quiet. Young teenagers were up to their usual mischief, but when we contacted the front dest they must have called one of the rooms because moms had the boys cleaning up their messes with brooms. It was pretty awesome. I would stay again and again.
