We stayed during the Solar Eclipse. At that time rates were tripled. But that was the same everywhere. I'm going to review this like it was a regular stay at regular rates, and by that standard this is a good value. It's better than comparable budget motels/hotels in the same price range. Pool looked nice, easy access to 410, more than enough parking.....you won't do better in San Antonio in this price range.

The room smelled bad when i checked in and there was mold in the tub. The pool was absolutely freezing and my kids were unable to swim. They chraged me a $150 fee for smoking, and I have never smoked in my life. They will not give me my money back. I will never stay at a Clarion again.

The first thing that caught my attention was the lack of safety in this hotel. The back door stayed unlocked so anybody could quickly access the property without needing to check in with anyone. It was extraordinary for a hotel to ignore security that much. Secondly, the staff was incompetent and unprofessional. The front desk personnel gave me a key card for an already occupied room. To make matters worse, I was embarrassed and shocked at best when I walked into that naked person who occupied the room. I ran back to the front desk to discuss the issue with three persons on duty, plus the manager, who happened to be present and was about to leave. Nobody seemed to know who occupied the room; instead of an apology, I impatiently watched them discuss back and forth about who checks whom in that room. That was a terrible experience, and I was highly disappointed and disgusted.

Bed was really comfortable. But the whole place could use some attention; lots of chipped paint, wear and tear around the place. Noticable stains in some areas (lamp shades).

They asked for a 50$ deposit of cash when I got there mins you it was never mentioned during booking. I paid it and when I was checking out the said they do not return it until 9am. Which nobody had told me that. I told them I have to be at the airport at 7 am and they said they could change me 100 dollars on my card and refund it that way!!!!! I was like absolutely not that is dumb and I’m about to go on vacation I need my money. Needless to say I don’t get my money back! They said they will be sending me a check in the mail. I am not to hopeful about that!

Front desk person had an attitude when I told her the $60 deposit must be charged to my card. They wanted cash. All other staff that we interacted with were very polite and helpful. Room was decent. Clean. Bathroom was clean. It’s your typical budget stay place.

Typically, I don’t roast a property – or even review it in detail – unless I had a particularly notable experience. The staff working the night shift who checked me in were a delight. A manager working the following morning was extremely rude. Arbitrarily denying a late checkout is fine; cancelling breakfast for all guests 30 minutes early without an explanation is fine; hanging up on customers who call to express their grievances is not. I think the hotel overall is fine to stay at, despite some noise. But I will definitely not forget how pathetic the manager’s performance was, and for that reason, I will not be back.

Was a good property but the floors were dirty the elevator was dirty and also had not been serviced since before it was due in 2021 according to the sign that was hanging inside. The building was not secure the two back entrances were just left open. You did not need to use the key card to get in.

The young man that checked us in was not very friendly. He never said thank you. When we got to our room the keys did not work and when we went back to lobby for him to fix it he never apologized, he just said “here you go”. There was never a smile or anything. The lady that checked us out was very nice.
