Great ! Close to everything. The Alamo is right across the street. You can even catch a horse drawn carriage right outside. I had a great time and I will be visiting again .

Old world charm

Posted Apr 15, 2015
Pros: Convenience to sights
Cons: The price and the size of the rooms
Location: The Alamo, The River Walk, Bus and Carriage tours.
I know this is an old hotel and you can tell by the little rooms and the tiny elevator but all in all it was a good place to stay because it was very convenient to everything we wanted to see. We walked across the street to the Alamo, the River Walk and the tour center (for horse and carriage and double buses). The breakfast was good (more than expected for a continental breakfast) and the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. This place seems a little pricey, though! Even using Expedia we only saved like five dollars off the price and it ended up costing almost two hundred for 1 night. :(

Hotel behind Alamo

Posted Apr 14, 2015
My husband and I went to SA for a mini vacation. We got a good deal on a room and flight. The Crocket is an older hotel close to the river walk, trolley stops, the Riverwalk Mall, and the bus line....location is great. The room was small but comfortable and very clean. We were on the second floor over the lobby. I would suggest asking for a room higher up, as you can hear people talking in the lobby late at night. When I mentioned the noise the next day, they did offer to move us. We stayed in the same room and there was no noise after that. I might add that the noise was from a loud guest....not the staff. The staff was very accommodating with luggage storage and securing a cab for us. The breakfast was good, well stocked, and fresh. A good choice!

nice area, close to everything. Clean, cozy.

Pros: The area, it was a perfect spot and easy to get in and out of. Clean and cozy, breakfast every morning. Hotel staff very nice and helpful.
Cons: Our room was a bit small for 3 people. Bathroom was also small. The pictures on line made it look MUCH bigger than it was and that was disappointing,
Location: Location was great, close to Alamo and riverwalk, shops & more.
Had a great time. Loved the area and the hotel for the most part was great. The Alamo and the riverwalk was right at your front door. Close to food and all kinds of things to do for all ages. From our room we could see the beautiful horse drawn carriages with colorful lights. It truly a great trip.

Started as a bad experience because of issue with having repaid for two night stay and because of personal circumstances and not being able to make the first night my second night was cancelled and not going to be refunded. After long discussion thru Expedia the hotel agreed to give me my second night back. They were polite and ccourteous at check in, the hotel was over clean and well kept even though it is over 100 years old. The location is excellent for staying in San Antonio and the rooms(though small) were clean and comfortable. After the reservation issues I could see staying here again.

Great hotel next to the Alamo.

The room was a little small but great. Our shower pressure was a little to hard which made it leak a little. The continental breakfast was great and had a huge vareity. Location was amazing. The Alamo was across the street and the river walk was across from there. Everything was in walking distance.

Nice hotel right next to the Alamo.

Posted Mar 28, 2015
Pros: The location and it was clean.
Cons: The bed was a little lumpy and soft.
Location: Right in the middle of all the tourist attractions. But be aware the tourist area is pricey.
Desk was pleasant, room was nice. Had a little trouble regulating the shower temperature, it was either cold or hot. The breakfast was nice probably better than most hotels serve, would of liked a little more variety. I felt the $24.00 a day parking was a little much, it is hard to pay $103.00 for parking.

The staff was fantastic!!!

Pros: Walking distance to just about everywhere.
Cons: Older hotel, maybe a cover for the pool?
Location: 3 min walk to the riverwalk. just minutes to shopping. Our room over looked the Alamo.
Eduardo the night manager went over and above his job description to make our stay memorable. It was our anniversary and I wanted to decorate our room. Eduardo worked with me to make sure everything was perfect on our special day. When we talked about where to eat and the restaurant we wanted to go to was sold out that night, Eduardo made reservations at another restaurant and made sure they new it was our special night. Even had a cab waiting for us. Talk about being blown away, we were speechless. Thank you again! The staff always had a smile on their faces when we either needed to ask them a question or when we walked by. We truly felt welcomed!
