“Honestly Speaking”
My wife and I spent four days at this hotel. Our checked-in took about 5 min. The window view in my first room was blocked by many trees and the roof of some buildings below. I was giving another room with no problems. This second room was a corner room with a wonderful view of the River Walk. The room was absolutely wonderful with two flat screen TVs, a microwave and refrigerator. This room had a recliner and a sofa. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean, the bathroom had a soap and shampoo despencer attached to the shower tile. We ate breakfast everyday in the dinning area. They even had evening snacks which was more than a meal, with items like bake potatoes, garden salad, chicken fingers, taco & chili and more. The menu varied just a little each night. A big plus was how helpful the hotel staff were. We did not rent a car becuase I was told that so many of the attarctions were in walking distance--true. However, the staff provided us information on how to get anywhere we need to go. They even show us how easy it was to catch a bus to the North Star Mall (a most visit) on the north side of town. The ride took maybe 20 to 25 mins with no transfering involved, and on our return trip the bus let us off right in front of the hotel. I've stayed at a lot of hotels and this hotel is one of the best. I would give this hotel four stars. Oh, one more thing, although we don't drink, there are complementary alcohol beverages and hot butter pop corn every night.
“Bad start, but the staff made sure it was a great visit”
Our original room had hair left on the bathroom floor and tub, and there was 2 " of water left in the tub. Called the desk and the mgr. moved us to a upgraded room, and the mgr and the maid immediately came to nispect the room. After that the entire staff could not have been more helpful and of service to us. The breakfasts and "kick back" time were excellent and enjoyable. This location on the riv erwalk is at the west end and more quiet than the major hotels. Overall a great visit, thanks to the staff.
“Great Riverwalk Experience”
Just had a marvelous stay at the Drury Inn & Suites on the San Antonio Riverwalk. The staff could not have been more accomodating or friendlier. The daily breakfast and evening offerings really hit the spot after a long day of travel, leisure or seeing the many sights of San Antonio. We really only had to eat out one meal a day. Great for expenses. Some advice: When checking in ask for a room on the river side. We had a room near the drive and street and could hear the garbage trucks and buses early in the morning.
“Very satisfied.”
We were very satisfied with our stay at the Drury Inn & Suites. The room was clean and service was great. The complimentary breakfast and kickback in the evening was a plus. Very Satisfied.
“Very impressed!”
The Drury Inn and Suites was very welcoming. The staff were accomodating and well informed. The Breakfast Buffet and 5:30 Kick Off was really awesome!
“Couldn't Have Been Better”
The whole experience was wonderful. The hotel staff went beyond in helping us have a wonderful time. They gave us tips on local restaurants to try and places to see. They were very knowledgeable about the area and the best ways to see the attractions in the area. It is within walking distance to the Alamo. It is located directly on the Riverwalk. The hot breakfast in the morning and the drinks and food at night were just the thing; these also saved us a lot of money. They also had sodas and hot popcorn in the lobby from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm each day. The hotel had workout rooms, indoor pool and guest laundry. It did not have valet parking, but this did not deter from the great experience at the hotel. We did not mind parking our own car. The hotel was also conveniently located for the local bus and trolley routes. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to San Antonio and is planning to stay downtown.
“Great Hotel”
I couldn't have been happier with our hotel. The staff were so friendly. The manager on duty even gave us a ride to our car rental lot when they wouldn't come and pick us up. They had three free drinks every afternoon for a happy hour...and the free soft drinks at night was also fantastic. The location was right on the Riverwalk and near the mall, the Alamo, the Main Plaza and Market Square. Sure - the hot food was not gourmet fare however it was great to grab a yogurt and some toast in the morning for free...and have more money to spend on nice meals later on. Also, free long distance calls... The staff made this hotel. I have nothing but good things to say about them.
“Great for short trips”
The Drury Inn is downtown on the Riverwalk. There is an attached garage with a gate that you can come in and out of which is convenient. The wireless internet is free and fairly fast. The hot breakfast is a nice way to save a few bucks if you don't want to eat out every meal - I would skip the eggs though. Evening hot foods tasted good and are filling enough you could make a meal out of them if you want. There seemed to be a low amount of staff on hand which could lead to longer waits. My complaint is with the towels. They're pretty minimal and thin. Otherwise, this is a great budget hotel.
