Nice, but a few glitches and so-so value

Posted Aug 2, 2015
This is a fairly new hotel. I think I saw somewhere that it opened in 2008. It's your good, solid convention sort of hotel. Pros: - new, clean -free WiFi Cons: - parking is ridiculously expensive. Think New York expensive. - Not really on the River walk. Its only about a five minute walk, but, still. - pet peeve: soft water. Good luck rinsing your skin. - oh, and did I tell you the parking was rip off expensive?

Over all it was good, the room was nice and spacious, and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. My only two issues were (1) the robes that we requested had a very rough texture, and (2), having stayed at other Grand Hyatt's before, the breakfast that we ordered for room service at this particular one look something to be desired, especially for the price point.

Nice hotel close to River Walk. The room was nice and clean, but they don't include breakfast and parking lot has an extra cost (expensive)

Excellent Anniversary Weekend!

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: The staff and the cleanliness were the two things that stuck out the most to me!
Cons: More people working the coffee area in the morning!
Location: We loved the location! It was within walking distance to everywhere we ate and all that we did!
We had such a great weekend staying at The Grand Hyatt San Antonio for our 2 year anniversary! It was our first time to leave our 10 month old daughter overnight and we had a great, relaxing weekend! The hotel sent us champagne and fruit for our anniversary on our first night! Such a sweet gesture! Everything was super clean, the staff was super nice, the bar was great, and it was nice to be able to get coffee downstairs at anytime! The pool was clean, and the service at the pool was great!

Cons: customer service
The parkinf and check out process was disapointing. They lost my keys luckily we had an extra set. We were told how busy the parking staff was and given many excuses. The situation is still not resolved and we were not even comped our sing night saty for theinconveniance. May need to gey my attorney involved.

Next to the Convention Center and the Riverwalk

Posted Jul 26, 2015
Pros: Staff very courteous. Top notch fitness center. Fantastic location. Nice bathroom.
Cons: Banged up furnishings replaced or fixed. Squeaky beds fixed.
Location: Right on the riverwalk and next to the convention center. WIthin minutes (walking distrance) of most of the downtown major attractions.
Overall we had a good experience. We arrived a little bit early before checkin time and they allowed us to go ahead and check in. But there were some concerning things. Surprisingly the room was a little bit banged up. In our room the furniture had big dings and scratches and no longer looked new. The bed actually squeaked when you moved on it. I wiped off some goo on the side of the dresser that was very obvious (housekeeping clearly overlooked this). On the upside the hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. The location is perfect if you need to access the convention center--which we did. Given some of these downsides it seemed slightly overpriced. I have stayed at less expensive places and had cleaner rooms with newer furnishings. The fitness center was top notch is the best I've ever seen in a hotel.
