Great location, could use some updates.

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: Proximity to the convention center
Cons: Rooms need updating and repair, cleaning could be more thorough
Location: Access to the riverwalk, convention center and park.
Stayed here for a convention, which made getting back and forth very convenient, but the rooms are a bit worn (especially some very obvious wear and tear on the leather headboard covering on both beds) and the rooms weren't as thoroughly cleaned as we would have liked. Given the large amount of hotels nearby, I'm not sure if I'll stay here next time or check on their competitors.

Convenient and nice stay

Very convenient to River Walk with all of its restaurants, boat rides and shopping, somewhat difficult finding the entrance to the hotel.

Center of it all

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: Pretty much everything
Cons: Valet parking was just a bit slow retrieving the car, but it was peak morning checkout time. Would benefit from Free Wifi as per many other hotels
Location: The hotel is very well placed for the Riverwalk area as its just a few mins walk.
Just a quick stay but a great one, very comfy and well appointed.

First time guest long time admirer.

The staff were very attentive to my needs. The beds were extremely comfortable. When calling the operator the CSR addressed me by name. No attitude and pleasant sounding. The lobby was inviting and the seats were very nice to relax on. Parking was free. Didnt see a lot of security but then again if the threat isnt there.... I love the location. Right off of the highway. So getting there was easy. Leaving was easy also. Good theres a light at the intersection.

Great location, but very pricy for a student

Posted Jan 14, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness, convenience
Cons: Price. Perhaps offer a student rate?
Location: Lots of good nosh on the Riverwalk; best was Barriba Cantina 10 mins walk away (great live music!). And don't forget the Alamo is only 3 blocks away.
The Grand Hyatt is well-located in downtown San Antonio. Given that I was attending a conference at the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center next door, the location couldn't be better. The hotel also adjuts the famous San Antonio Riverwalk, which I enjoyed walking along in the evenings. My only criticism -- and it is a significant one -- is that the hotel is *expensive*. A four night stay put me back almost $1000. As a student this is nigh-prohibitive. As such, unless you're well-off or have your trip paid for you by a third party, this might not be the most sensible choice of hotel for you.

We had a great time . The hotel was right on the Riverwalk. It was close to great places to eat and next to the Mall. The staff was always ready to help and give good suggestions on where to eat and things to see. The Ruth's Chris was great.

On the Riverwalk

Posted Jan 12, 2015
Pros: Price, people and the room was great. Easy self park- getting harder to find at other hotels.
Cons: We loved it as is...
Location: Dozens of things within walking distance. River walk, The Alamo, great shopping and restaurants - get a brochure in the hotel lobby-lots to do.
Took the family to San Antonio for a 3 day vacation. Choose hotel through Expedia-what a great choice. Out the door you are on the riverwalk. Great hotel, friendly staff, very accommodating. Great price as well. Very pleased.

Great place to stay on the Riverwalk

Enjoyed my stay very much. Having a Starbucks and a Ruth's Chris restaurant on site is a plus but more importantly the bed and pillows were so comfortable and the bathroom was nice and clean!
