Thrilled with location!!

Posted May 13, 2015
Pros: The location was perfect! Our River View balcony was great!! On the river side, the hotel is located between La Villita and the Torch of Friendship.
Cons: Concierge and staff did not tell us about city bus sightseeing route (#7) or Alamo Trolley.
Location: Riverboat ride (fun!!) tickets right across river from hotel, Tower of Americas across from front of hotel, La Villita shops and cafe right next door!
4 night Riverwalk stay. We wanted to enjoy the Riverwalk, Missions and Botanical Garden. The Hilton was a perfect base for the adventures. All rooms have a balcony. We paid extra for river view instead of city view. City side has view of Tower of Americas and Torch of Friendship. However we loved the river view!!! I have a bad back. When I asked, the hotel staff found me a room with a newer bed that really helped!! They were wonderful!!!! The 'Alamo Trolley' Hop-on-Hop-off was a great opportunity to see the sites we wanted! 2 Missions: San Jose and Concepcion. It also stopped at Hemisfair Park, Tower of the Americas, Institute of Texan Cultures, La Villita, Market Square, San Fernando Cathedral, the Mission Trail, King William Historic District, etc. Check their website. We loved the idea of the double-decker open top bus, however its route was only the downtown area; did not include the missions! Checkout the City Bus Sightseeing route #7! We did not rent a car. Didn't really need one! To go to the Botanical Garden we took this bus. It also goes to the Zoo and art museums, etc. $1.20 one-way or all day pass $4! You can buy a pass at the Visitors Center or have exact change and buy as you get on. Pick up a schedule of stops and times at the Visitors Center also. There is code you can text for arrival times, include stop number. The Visitors Center's (across the street from the Alamo) people were most helpful and friendly! Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful!!

Staff was wonderful and very accommodating.

Cons: Lighting in the rooms was very dim. Housekeeping brought me another light bulb so I could work on my project. Noise control
Usually when I book through a third party, I receive a room reflecting that very thing. They asked me the type of room I preferred and were very gracious to offer a late check out of 2pm.

Nice hotel on the San Antonio Riverwalk.

Posted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: It's location and the staff.
Cons: Amenities such as breakfast or parking could be easier.
Location: Centrally located - close to everything one might want to see-took a friend from Virginia & she enjoyed it all. Easy access to the Alamo & shops.
Not a lot of amenities but very clean nice room. Very comfortable bed & staff was above friendly - very accommodating. Would stay again - it's located close to everything one might want to see or visit.

Great location, nicely updated, but pricey valet

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Nicely updated
Cons: Bring down the valet rates!
Nice location right in the thick of the Riverwalk and close to convention center. A bit strange lobby layout and elevator process (like an office building - select your floor and it assigns the elevator). Rooms are updated with granite countertops and the bathroom was very nicely updated. Bed was comfortable. The valet parking rate though, is outrageous! $42 plus tax to valet! Crazy!

Overpriced parking and Internet.

Posted Apr 6, 2015
$43/night valet parking or $29/night you park at a garage 2 blocks away. Call the valet at least 30 min in advance of when you want your car. The pickup point under the portico is a zoo. Dangerous in the extreme. Given the price, I'll stay somewhere else on the Riverwalk next time.

Great location

Posted Mar 17, 2015
Pros: Location was #1! Loved the cleanliness of the lobby, seating areas, and restrooms above the lobby. Every department was friendly and helpful.
Cons: Although the room appeared to be clean, I did find a sock underneath my bed and it wasn't mine. It had to have been from the previous guest.
Location: Walking along the River walk was nice. Ripley's believe it or not attractions were down the street. There were lots of restaurants around.
This hotel is at a great location! It's right off the River walk and close walking distance to great restaurants, shops, and River walk Mall. Since it was a busy weekend we took a cab to the Market Square and the drive was only a few minutes which was great. Upon arrival the hotel staff was very hospitable. Our room was nice with an updated look. The beds were comfortable and loved having a full length mirror! Pilar, with room service was nice and friendly and went out of her way to make sure I had plenty of what I needed when I wasn't feeling well. Very few things that I have to complain about. The unknown dirty sock under my bed that didn't belong to me was pretty gross. When we were going to check out I didn't receive the same friendliness that I did when we arrived. The payment process wasn't being clearly explained to me and I sensed a little attitude. We also called the front desk to see if we could get help for our luggage and no one ever came so we just went to the lobby. We didn't want to miss our check out time.
