Great place!Posted Jul 25, 2014
Cons: bar service
Location: Loved being in walking distance to everything that we wanted to do.
Everything was perfect from start to finish. Enjoyed our view, the service and attention to detail. It was a nice retreat away from home. Loved the suite with the living area separated from the bedroom. And I loved the new and clean bathroom.

Family TripPosted Jul 18, 2014
Great place to stay. Clean, quiet and relaxing. The hotel is right on the river and steps ways from many local attractions. Breakfast was good and our server was friendly and knowledgable.

Quiet but still on the river.Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: We enjoyed the aesthetics of the hotel - especially the design of the rooftop pool area and the dining room by the river.
Cons: We turned off the a/c upon our afternoon arrival and the room was still freezing the following morning. The sofa bed mattress was notably thin.
Location: We liked the location a bit away from the noise of the most heavily trafficked section of the River Walk.
We were three adults sharing a small suite which was thoughtfully laid out. It was fine for one night - a longer stay would have required more space.

Contessa is an excellent Hotel. Highly recommendedPosted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: The location, the staff and the overall look and ambiance were absolutely great!
Cons: The one thing that must be improved is the stairs and check out process. Trying to take the stairs is an adventure.
Overall we had an excellent stay and had a lot of fun. The amenities are perfect and offer many way to relax and enjoy your stay. Everything on the Riverwalk is close and yet far enough to offer a relaxing time after returning from the turmoil of the restaurants area. There are a couple things that need to be taken care of and this will be a perfect hotel. We checked out on a Sunday along with 180 other guests. Getting on the elevator on 7th level was a challenge so we gave up and decided to take the stairs. That is where the improvements must come! The stairs are totally disorganized. One flight of stairs take you directly to the street but you cannot exit as the alarm would sound. The other stairs takes you to a labyrinth without any directing sign so you feel uneasy to enter. These are easy fixes and should be taken care of. Stairs or no stairs, we enjoyed our stay and we would go back any time!!

Over priced for what you got!Posted Jul 16, 2014
Cons: They really SHOULD have a hotel shuttle. The "Go" Shuttle cost $40.00 round trip to airport and took 2 hours to go 15 minutes.
Location: River walk was spectacular!
Hotel Staff unknowledgable about their own facilities, and lousy directions about attraction in the immediate area. Room Had No Mini-bar. (Though one was advertised). Bottle of Water in Hotel store $4.50. Toilet kept getting plugged up. .

Pros: near the river
Cons: be your own Parking lot
all very well, but I did not like that did not have its own car park, I had to pay $ 16.00 USD per night, and breakfast ay to pay $ 20.00 first hotel I look at this.

LOCAL WEEKEND WARRIORPosted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: CLEAN, FRIENDLY STAFF, CONVENIENT PARKING ACROSS THE STREET,GREAT LOCATION.
Cons: I'VE STAYED IN HOTELS ALL AROUND THE WORLD AND IN SAN ANTONIO. THE CONTESSA WILL STAND UP TO ANY INNER URBAN 4-5 STAR HOTELS.
Location: DOWNTOWN CLOSE TO THE RIVER, THE ALAMO AND ALL RESTAURANTS EVEN IF YOU WANTED TO VISIT SEAWORLD OR SIXFLAGS FIESTA TEXAS YOU COULD STAY HERE.
I LIVE IN SAN ANTONIO AND I LIKE TO TAKE A WEEKEND AND STAY AT A HOTEL ON THE RIVERWALK. THE CONTESSA WAS VERY CLEAN AND QUIET. WE HAD A SUITE ON THE 12TH FLOOR AND WITH THE ROOMS FLOOR TO CEILING WINDOWS WE HAD SPECTACULAR VIEWS OF THE SKYLINE AND DOWN MARKET STREET. WE WERE FORTUNATE TO VISIT ON A CLEAR NITE WHEN THERE WAS A SUPER MOON AND THE ROOFTOP POOL WITH ITS PANORAMIC VIEWS SHOWED DOWNTOWN SAN ANTONIO AND THE SUPERMOON OFF. THE STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND INVITING. WE ATE AT BOUDROS ON THE RIVER (THE TABLE SIDE GUACAMOLE IS FANTASTIC) THAN WALKED AROUND A LITTLE AND ENJOYED SOME OF THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE OLDER BUILDINGS. I LOOK FORWARD TO STAYING AT THE CONTESSA AGAIN ; ) ADIOS!

Hotel right next to Riverwalk, convenient locationPosted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: location Downstairs dining room is beautiful.
Cons: dining room service is a bit slow
Location: Riverwalk has a lot of cafes, nicely shaded paths. very pleasant
Very good. Take advantage of happy hour drinks and snacks Bed has sharp corners that stick out, need to be careful walking around it.
