Very fancy hotel, courteous staff. There was even a wedding going on at the hotel. Facility has restaurant of its own. The only thing I wish it had breakfast included

Anniversary getaway

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff and location.
Location: Everything was walking distance and hotel was easy to find.
Staff made this experience great, my husband and I were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were given free champagne, strawberries and drinks at the bar. Room was clean and very comfortable beds. Location was great as well.

Nice but $30 per day parking fee plus tips

Posted Jul 22, 2014
The staff were friendly and room were comfortable . We were surprised by the daily parking fee not mentioned in anything I read when booking this hotel. $30 per day is quite a large unexpected expense! This did not include the tips to the valet drivers every time they needed to bring the rental car to the hotel then back to the garage! Plus remembering to call ahead for them to bring the car .

Upscale Boutique Style Hotel

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Very attentive and helpful staff and overall services.
Cons: Morning coffee and afternoon ice-water available in lobby area. Availability of local coupon books and attractions, and menus from nearby restaurants
Location: Great location, just off the Riverwalk. Very close to the Alamo and Visitors Center. Located on trolley and bus lines.
Excellent location for sightseeing. Very attractive facility inside and out. Interior motif is very attractive and mostly contemporary whereas the building style is more southern European. Interior is not well-lit or bright because the lighting is kept to a minimum. There is a very spacious bar and comfortable lounge area. The upgraded room did not appear to have discernable "upgrades" and may not be a good value unless room view is considered a must. Room was above average with a firm bed, ample storage area, and very comfortable chair. Bathroom is adequate, on the small side, but was certainly not luxurious. Housekeeping was satisfactory. We encountered a plumbing issue in the bathroom which was quickly resolved. The management was very apologetic and helpful, and we were not charged for our room upgrade. Overall, we were pleased with our stay and would recommend this hotel for couples and seniors.

Near the Riverwalk but for the price shop around.

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Close to Riverwalk
Cons: See experiences.
Location: Close to Riverwalk. Saw Kansas at Aztek theater (2 blocks). Starbucks, Alamo, close.
Valet parking a nightmare (discombobulated and lost my call down number twice). Front desk personell ignorant of ongoing activities around town. When unsure of anything they went on Google right in front of me at the front desk! Guess what, I can do that also! No help at all. Courteous but vacuous. Bed weird. Felt like we slept in a valley the whole time. Tried to cheat me on the mini-bar. Restaurant expensive for non-expense account people.
