The hotel staff are to be commended for the care they take in making sure each guest enjoys their stay. Unfortunately, both rooms I stayed in (after asking for a new one) were musty and the hotel is understaffed in the summer. The staff did a phenomenal job going above and beyond most hotels.

No PBS on TV

Posted Jul 23, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Have Public TV PBS available
This is not my first visit to the SA Hyatt. I find it very odd and unfortunate that they don't have public TV (PBS) in their selection of stations. That means no Downton Abbey or Mystery or Sesame Street or PBS News. I complained twice last year and nothing has been done. :-(

It was great stay, clean and had plenty of parking. Located 10 minutes from the river center mall and river walk. the price was low and also had a nice pool.

Close to food, downtown, and the airport. Our room was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was delicious. They even offered cucumber water and lime water in the lobby.

Weekend Getaway

Posted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: Beds were comfy as usual, pool was nice and cleaned, breakfast as good as usual.
Cons: Guest Laundry could be better, one washer and one dryer is not enough with 126 guest rooms.
Location: GPS was a bit off and made us go the long way around. Otherwise everything was easy to get to and from.
Everything was as expected. Except for trying to order a pizza for delivery and not being able to use the room phone. Out of 2 phones neither one worked we had to use our cell phone. The room didn't have a microwave which was a surprise since we have used Hyatt Place in the past and the room did have a microwave. The room got stuffy in the middle of the night even with AC on 70 degrees.

Decent hotel but needs renovation

Posted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: Nice staff
Cons: Renovate, PLEASE.
We came into San Antonio for a huge conference. Even though we searched for a room a year in advance, this was still the only decent hotel left for under $200/night that looked decent. Upon arrival we were pleased. the lobby area looks great. Once you turn the corner though to get to the elevators you can immediately tell the hotel is in bad need of renovation and really just overall upkeep. The elevator and hallways look dingy, the carpet needs to be replaced, same goes with the rooms. Breakfast was just OK. Not tasty but when it's free you can't really complain. We paid $114/night which to me was too expensive for this calibur of hotel. I have stayed in hotels like this for as low as $80/night. I believe the actual listing is $140/night which is MUCH too expensive for a dingy hotel that needs significant renovations. On the plus side the staff was great and the cleaning team was as well

Business Trip - Hotel was very nice

Posted Jul 8, 2015
Pros: Location is perfect - Near Airport
Cons: Maybe seating for Breakfast - but not sure how to fix that.....
Location: Close to Quarry for Food and near airport. Not too far from Riverwalk and very close to highway entrance.
Breakfast was good - Decent variety (I am not a big Bfast person so to me as long as toaster is working I am fine) Staff very helpful - I had a print problem with my boarding pass and the Staff went out of their way to help me (Changed toner cartridge, for example)

Very nice hotel

Posted Jun 30, 2015
The only reason i didnt rate excellent on staff was because we did come across a rude lady who told us that the kitchen was closed and that everything closed at 12, when there were signs everywhere saying 24/7. Other then that our stay was quite pleasant. There was a young man that made our experience better. I give him 2 thumbs up on customer service. He was very kinda and informative. I cant remember his name but he has brown curly hair and glasses. I will deff be staying again. Great room, breakfast, and great hotel.
