Not worth the money!

Posted Jan 21, 2015
We really expected much more from this place. The room was very hot and stuffy. It took hours to cool off. The AC was working very well. The extra money we paid for to get a river view, with no balcony. Won't be staying there again.

From Desk who check me in young lady was rude. I honesty felt like she just did not care when I tried to explain to her that I paid for a window view from Expedian booking she basically gave me two options pay a upgrade or call Expedian your booking agency so they can fix it.

Great location but Drawbacks

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Sound proof the walls and windows!!!!! Hire better staff.
Location: River walk is out one door the Alamo out the other. Great location
The hotel is very nice and has a great location to the Riverwalk and to the Alamo. However, be warned that the walls are paper thin. You can hear everyone and everything through the walls. We were forced to stay up all night until we called security due to the drunks next door. The windows are also not soundproofed and you can even hear the horses walking by four stories below. If you stay, ask for a room as high as possible and ask for one not next to anyone. Also, the maids cleaned our room the first day at 12pm and then the next day was there bright and early, we asked her to come back but she never did. The room was not cleaned the second day at all. When we checked out no one even asked how our stay was. Nice hotel but needs some work.

Excellent location

Hotel is perfectly located, right on the River Walk, only 3 block from the Convention Center (I was in San Antonio for a conference) and 1 block from the Alamo. My room was fine, but the heating unit was noisy (I am someone who can sleep fine with the TV on, but this noise was hard to get used to) and although a non-smoking room, I could smell stale cigarette smoke on the pillows - not good. Otherwise, I was pleased with everything else.

Perfect Location for Riverwalk

Posted Jan 15, 2015
Pros: Location - location - location. Located right in the middle of everything. Alamo on one side - Riverwalk on the other and beautiful water features.
Cons: Did not like fact that elevator from upper rooms would not connect with the lower lobby. Had to get off and take another elevator.
Location: Location was perfect, right on the best part of Riverwalk. The Alamo is across the street - easy walk to The Tower of The Americas, The Alamodome.
Hotel was perfect for staying right on Riverwalk. We flew in and never needed to rent a car. Water features ran from one end or entrance to Hotel, ran down through the lower lobby and out into the river. Had view of The Alamo from our window and had live music on the patio and bar on the river side. Also had a beautiful pool with view on the top of Hotel.

Expected MUCH better.

Pros: The location is outstanding if you are visiting the San Antonio River Walk. Most downtown attractions are within walking distance.
Cons: Housekeeping and customer service need some real focus - at least for the weekend staff.
Location: The location is outstanding if you are visiting the San Antonio River Walk or the Alamo. Most downtown attractions are within walking distance.
I was very disappointed - the valet service wasn't interested in helping if you didn't wanted to self park. No one greeted us in the hotel, no one offered to take our bags, check-in was efficient but offered no information about the hotel or the area, there was no consierge service over the weekend, there were dirty dishes from room service in the morning still in the hallways until after we returned from supper, there was a crib in the hall with dirty towels and sheets all day. The hotel bar had such bad service and high prices we opted to take our eating and drinking business elsewhere. The room was average - poorly arranged, the bed was off it's frame, their were hairs around the comode and MOLD GROWING IN THE COFFEE POT. There was even a dirty glass outside the door when we checked in. On the up side, the staff change on Monday seemed to clean things up. I didn't even get greeted by anyone on staff until the day I checked out. As an extended weekend get-away, this stay was the pits.
