Wonderful experiencePosted Feb 25, 2014
My son and I enjoyed our stay from our arrival to check out time. I dont know if it was just san antonio people being nice or if the hyatt regency staff gave us the welcome feel, but we loved our stay. Definitely returning!!!

Location: Great restaurants!
We had a great experience! All of the staff were very nice and courteous. The atmosphere was great! Right in the middle of the river walk was awesome!

Could have been betterPosted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: The staff did try to make it up to us about the bread episode, but what they offered was too little, too late.
Cons: An explanation about why the maid threw out the bread. Was this even investigated?
Location: Ideal location. One block from the Alamo and the Riverwalk just out the door.
First, we were checked into a room that had not been cleaned. We did get a room with a better view. But why did the maid throw out our banana bread? I had baked some bread for my goddaughter to take with her and the maid took the bread. I never did get an explanation of why this happened. I felt violated.

Hyatt RiverwalkPosted Feb 17, 2014
Cons: Customer service. Not everyone who stays here is a "clueless tourist".
We live in San Antonio, so we'd decided to do an "in-town" vacation over the Valentine's Day weekend. We chose the Hyatt because it was directly on the Riverwalk and allowed pets. Check-in was at 3:00. At 3:00 I'm standing in front of the clerk as he tells me there are no rooms available right now, but that he would call me when one was ready. As he is playing on his computer and telling me this, the clerk next to him is able to accommodate 3 guests with rooms without similar issues. But we did eventually get a room. Later, we walked up and down the Riverwalk and had a late lunch. At 7:30 we go to the restaurant at the hotel (Q) to see what they had and what time they would close. We had decided on a late dinner and figured to come back at 9:00 to eat. We talked with the hostess, told her our plans and she suggested the Valentine's Day special when we came back. 9:00 rolled around and we were greeted by the same hostess. She asked if we had reservations as there was an hour/hour and a half wait to be seated. Some issues here - looking into the dining room, 6 of the approximately 20 tables were in use. This same hostess never mentioned needing a reservation, and an hour to an hour and half wait time would have put them at or past closing time (10:00). Going back to the Riverwalk for dinner proved fruitless real quick as there we ACTUAL one to two hour wait times at almost all of those restaurants. Since we lived in town, we packed up, checked out, went to IHOP and went home.

Rooms are a bit tired.Posted Feb 6, 2014
Good location next to the Riverwalk, lots of restaurants, etc. Apparently the rooms will soon be upgraded but are a little worse for wear at the moment, particularly the bathroom.

My Favorite Hotel...Posted Feb 2, 2014
Cons: It is hard to improve on excellent!!
Location: On the Riverwalk in San Antonio Tx. Ball games, golf , all sorts of history in the city. The Alamo, need I say more.
Had a short stay, 2 days, but enjoyed every minute. The hotel is beautiful with part of the river running thru the ground floor. Parking is a breeze for those of us who drive to this wonderful place. The "Alamo" is a stone throw away.
