“Good but we had problems”

We chose this hotel based on a strong traveler rating. Right off the bat, however, we noticed the faucet handle on our bathroom sink was completely unattached, and the sink drain was clogged. The air in our room also did not work. After maintenance came to the room and "fixed" the air problem, it still didn't work. When we couldn't sleep in the miserably warm room, we were given another room at 3:00 a.m., but the air didn't work there either. Maintenance came the next day and "fixed" the problem in that room so that the air would work, but the thermostat continued to malfunction. It was always either too cold or too warm, but we just accepted it for the next two days, because we didn't want to change rooms again. We also had problems with the vending machines. On the plus side, the rooms were clean, and the staff was polite and helpful. The hotel location was well within easy walking distance of the Alamo and River Walk. Don't even think about bringing a car here...the parking prices will kill you.

Area recommendations

Of course the River Walk and Alamo are must-sees in San Antonio. We recommend having lunch at a River Walk cafe and taking the river tour boat. To see the city we liked the double-decker bus, but we were disappointed with the Hemisfair Park...it's not worth your time.

“would stay there again”

Great location. Front desk staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was well-organized and adequately staffed. Maid forgot to clean the room two of the five days, but it was done immediately after we mentioned it at the front desk. The bar was nice. The doormen were pleasant and helpful. The lobby and common areas were all carefully cleaned and maintained. Overall, a pleasant stay. It is right across the road from Macy's, which is connected to the Riverwalk Mall. We would stay there again.

“This was my second time!”

This time I stayed at La Quita Convention Ctr for the Rock n Roll Marathon. The hotel did a great job catering to the hundreds of us that stayed at your hotel.

“Parking is a disaster”

They don't tell you that parking is an extra $20 on top of the room charge. The parking lot was filled up so they sent me to an overflow lot where they charge $10 to park. Ridiculous. Won't book there again.

“Absolutely loved it!!!”

I stayed in La Quinta for 3 days and was very pleased with their services!!! The room was big, with beautiful view on The Tower of Americas, BIG nice bed, BIG bathroom, TV, free wireless!!!! I absolutely loved it!!!! Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Complimentary FULL breakfast (with self-made waffles!!!!) was just great!!!! Location is great too: 5 min. from downtown and River Walk!!! I absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone!

River Walk - visit during evening hours!! Tower of Americas - Charter House - rotating restaurant - the view is just breathtaking at night!!!! San Antonio Zoo (if you travel with kids) and Japanese Tea Garden - insanely beautiful park in Japanese style with little ponds full of fish and cute bridges.

“Good price for location.”

Hotel was convenient to the Aladome and Riverwalk area. Breakfast was good as well. We weren't in our room but worked well for what we needed.

“Nope”

The hotel itself is located perfectly.c across the street from anything you'd need. The hotel staff were pretty rud, the wait for our room waive and a half hours past the 3 o'clock chec in. The were still leftovers in out (out of the fridge and in it) from the previous guest. On the bright side the breakfast was pretty good!

“great option for convention”

I was in San Antonio for a convention at the Grand Hyatt. I had colleagues stay at the Hyatt for more than twice the price. La Quinta is only a block away so there really was no inconvenience at all. And considering I spent all my days at the convention, I can see no reason to pay for whatever else the Hyatt might offer for their price. Also, La Quinta is just a 10 minute walk to Riverwalk.
