Pros: Hotel staff and breakfast
I am accustomed to staying at indoor room hotels and the majority of the rooms on this hotel open to the outdoors. Fortunate for me the hotel has some indoor rooms and my reservation was one of those rooms. I thought I was making a reservation at the Pear Tree but at a different location. Overall the stay was fine. The room was smaller than I was used to.

SA Pear Tree Inn

Front desk staff was nice. Hotel looks decent over all, but it is old and the nearby train that comes thru like 5 times a night is LOUD. The room seemed cleanish, but when we got in to the room it smelled like a skunk was the previous guest. Leaving the air on for a few hours while we were gone helped w/that. Also the room was not too clean - pillow cases smelled like they were last washed 6 months ago and had who knows what allergens on them that got me all stuffed up. Also one of the members of my party got a staple in her foot from the carpet. Overall this hotel served the purpose to have a place to crash for one night, but not sure I'll stay here again.

No housekeeping

I loved the free breakfast and the front desk was very nice. The only thing I have bad to say is housekeeping never came by to clean our room.
