Cons: The rooms should have a microwave.
Location: Centrally located around many activities; the Riverwalk, the Alamo, Ripleys, At & T center, Sea world, many many restaurants and bars.
The room was very nice and comfortable. Was very disappointed that the hot tub/Jacuzzi did not work; we specifically book this hotel because of that. Not many hotels in that area has that feature. We were at a Luke Bryan concert and didn't get back til later in the evening; when we were finally got get into the hot tub, it didn't come on; it kinda ruin our evening of fun. Other than that; the room was very nice and comfy. I certainly would go back again.

Close to center of everything

Went to the Riverwalk and ate. Then saw the other sites. Our hotel was so close we didn't have to hurry everywhere.

Wonderful hotel

Posted Aug 25, 2014
This was a beautiful ornate building with an excellent location for seeing all the important and entertaining parts of San Antonio. Our room overlooked the Alamo site and was within walking distance of everything. The staff was helpful and courteous, and even though I was nervous about using valet parking, they took great care with my vehicle. I would highly recommend it.

Return Stay

Pros: Facilities - great location, clean, elegant, rich in history Staff - Friendly, helpful, honest, customer-oriented, professional
Cons: Nothing
Location: Everything you would want to do in downtown San Antonio is accessible from the Emily Morgan (Alamo, Riverwalk, Theatres, Mall, Missions, Cathedrals...
On our way home from San Antonio we stopped by Lockhart, Texas to have some BBQ. After our meal, my girlfriend realized she left her jewelry (very expensive and irreplaceable) in our room back at the Emily Morgan. I immediately called the front desk (contacting Ginger, who was very helpful) and learned that they did in fact find the jewelry, as it was turned in by the custodial staff (Nancy). We turned around and headed back to the hotel and decided to stay another night, to show our appreciation for their honesty and integrity. This was my first experience with the hotel, and I am certain that I will stay nowhere else when visiting San Antonio.

Bad service, but a cool room

Posted Aug 5, 2014
We had to walk up to the valet guy after sitting out in the street for 5 minutes to get his attention. Then we asked a guy where to check in and he pointed me in the direction if the front desk. We stood there for a few minutes holding all of our belongings until my wife walked around and found a luggage cart. After we got all of our luggage on the rack, the room hop walked up and asked if he could help. By that time we just wanted to do it ourselves and get to our room. Rude front desk when I called for valet to prepare my car. Overall, it was a cool hotel, but the service sucked. Would not go back. Overpriced and under valued.

Pros: Great staff everywhere, great beds, & convenient to all downtown attractions
Location: The Riverwalk access is just across the street. The Alamo is next door to the hotel. Trolley for the MarketPlace is across the street as well.
We used the Emily Morgan once before and knew it was the place to go back to for our honeymoon trip to S.A. The staff is nice, the hotel so luxurious, and they have the best most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The hotel is a bit pricy, sure, but you get the luxury. Its not ON the Riverwalk but access is just across the street so its super convenient to all the downtown attractions. My husband is 6'3" and always complains that bath tubs just aren't big enough for him to stretch out, but he LOVED soaking in the tub in our room - even after a shower ! The views of downtown S.A. aren't what someone might consider scenic but the higher you go in the hotel the better it is. We stayed on the 11th floor this time and the lights at nite were great. There is a bar just off the lobby and we got drinks to go and loved The Don margarita. Even the bartender was great. What else could you ask for in a hotel ?
