Fooled by Fairmount name and logo!Posted May 4, 2015
Pros: Hotel staff were nice and helpful.
Cons: Remodel the entire hotel.
Location: Location was OK. Near the Riverwalk.
We thought we have reserved at famous Fairmont hotel chain. We were disappointed at what we saw. Our room was dark with old furniture. It is a 2 star hotel. The hotel staff were nice but the hotel is definitely not 'The jewel of San Antonio'. Not even close!

Fine HotelPosted Apr 21, 2015 on Hotels
This is a wonderful hotel with plenty of character. Near to the canal walk and also close to the conference center. Walking in the other direction will bring you to some fine restaurants away from the canal. All the staff encountered were polite and helpful, and very quick to address requests and a technical issue with the wireless internet in my room. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the antique furnishings made for a different ambiance from the usual modern hotel room.

We stay at this hotel a lot. It has tons of charm and you can't beat the location for the Maverick. We got a room upgrade and it was wonderful!

Perfect hotel!Posted Apr 3, 2015 on Hotels
Perfect for romantic getaway! Close to everything. Great historic hotel. Beautiful rooms! No pool, No hot tub but so charming! Great for couples! Don't take a family there. They would hate it and the guests at a hotel like the fairmont don't want to hear screaming children either.

Very charming hotel, 2' walk from the RiverwalkPosted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: charm, location, size of the room
Cons: maintenance could be a little better...
Location: 2' walk from the Riverwalk, where most of SA's life is...
Third year in a row that I choose the Fairmount Hotel for the same Petrochemical Conference attendance. They are generally very well priced, likely due to fact that they offer no breakfast / food services and have no gym and/or pool. But if you like a charming room in a charming building this is the perfect one... you can always get breakfast in one of the neighboring hotels which are walking distance... One thing to notice: wireless with quite weak signal, and often "falling off" - if you plan to work from your laptop, you may get frustrated with it... I mentioned it to the staff and hopefully they'll work this out soon...
