A trip back in time

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: The charm as well as the History
Cons: It is great just like it is.Hold onto as much of the History as you can.Once it is gone, it is gone for good.
Location: It is right in the middle of everything.RiverWalk,Alamo,Hemisfair, RiverCity Mall
We had a great time outside. There are so many things to do and see, all within walking distance. So much History ,..mixed witith the modern times. We always looked forward to going back to the Menger Hotel and relax. It was like stepping through the doors into something you would see in an old movie.

Convenient Hotel

I did not spend much time inside the hotel/room but it did not really feel like a place I would want to hang out in.

Good stay with a bit of history

Posted Oct 17, 2014
Loved the hotel would have upgraded the room though. Bed was horrible and room felt like a closet. There were bigger rooms just hadn't been there before to know. Price was good but would have paid more for bigger room and better bed.

central location, charming surrounding, gracious

Posted Oct 16, 2014
Cons: There is only an ability to do air or heat - not both. Depends on the time of year I guess...
Location: Riverwalk, Alamo, RiverCenter mall, convention center, Mexican Market, shuttle bus and Alamo Square
I have always enjoyed the "charm" and "history" of the hotel. It is well located and the pricing is also excellent

Historic hotel close to Riverwalk.

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: The history, the courtyard, displays, the bar.
Location: The Alamo is across the street. Tons of things to do and easy access to the Riverwalk.
We had a great time staying at The Menger. Lots of interesting historical displays. Lovely lobby, friendly staff. The Menger Bar was fun to hang out in, especially knowing it's history. The courtyard and pool area were very nice and pleasing to relax in. We would stay here again.

Great Location

Posted Oct 9, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Old hotel and the plumbing did not work well. They advertised a heated swimming pool but it was the coldest pool I have ever swam in.
Location: Alamo, riverwalk, and missions
We had a great time in San Antonio with this hotel by the Alamo. The staff was super friendly and took care of all of our needs.
