Nice but noisyPosted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: I like the history of the hotel and how it looked like and older hotel. I also liked that it was close to everything i needed so i could walk.
Cons: The noise from construction and the service elevator.
Location: It was right next to the Also so we were able to walk over and enjoy. There are also several restaurants near by the the River Center Mall.
There room we stayed in was nice and clean. The staff was also nice. Everything we needed was close to the hotel so we didn't need to drive through downtown. The only issue we had was we were next to the service elevator and it was noisy.

A comfortable hotel, centrally located.Posted Sep 26, 2014
Our stay at the Menger Hotel was quite relaxing. The restaurant and shops are nice, and we were within walking distance to most attractions in San Antonio. I would recomend The Menger and San Antonio to anyone, and I look forward to a return trip.

Menger Hotel is a wonderful Hotel & Museum PiecePosted Sep 24, 2014
Pros: Location; Pool; History
Cons: Don't change a thing
Location: Sits adjacent to the Alamo and within walking distance to the River Walk and great dining and shoping
My second stay at the Menger. - Wonderful hotel and Spa for something that is 150+ years old. - Sits adjacent to the Alamo and within walking distance to the River Walk and great dining and shoping. - Affordable rates for San Antonio and its not just a hotel - Its a museum! The Antigue furniture and decor is Amazing. - My room had an Antigue Bed (Modern Mattress) and furniture that was incredible. Like a stroll back to yesteryear.

Charm and locationPosted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: The helpful staff recommended local happy hours! It was really hot while we were there and we loved the pool. Coffee was freely available downstairs.
Cons: Our room was near the air conditioning. We found this very noisy. The fan in our room was also noisy. It would be good to have a fridge in the room.
Location: The hotel is directly over the road from the Alamo site. the River Walk is very close by. Both of these are must-sees.
My husband and I stayed at the Menger Hotel for two nights. We enjoyed its gracious setting and central location.

Fantastico!Posted Sep 16, 2014
Pros: Loved that the Hotel has much history behind it. Walking distance to the ALAMO and River Walk. Great food and drinks.
Cons: I cannot think of a thing!
Location: It was easy to find and drive to. Valet parking was terrific. Walking distance to the ALAMO and River Walk. Great food and drinks.
The three of us; myself, my sister, and my cousin all had a great time. The Menger is a wonderful piece of history and it is very well maintained. Very clean rooms and terrific staff. The showers were clean and water hot. The beds were comfy. All of it was grand!

We had a good stay.Posted Sep 16, 2014
Pros: The history displays & loveliness of the building. Access to the center of activities is a bonus and good valet (pricey). Nice free boarding pass.
Cons: Work on the odor by the old bar. Allow for a Sunday meal option. There was a piano but no one played. We had a few panhandlers outside.
Location: Wonderful city and fabulous array of things to do. Advertise Enchanted Ranch and Aldo's restaurant as an outing worth doing. Loved them.
Very minor problem with key not working and a slow sink in bathroom. The staff was excellent and the hotel is charming. We decided not to go in the pool that was pretty cold. We thought the bar was beautiful but being by the bathrooms it seemed to have a weird odor. We had drinks elsewhere. Food in the dining room was wonderful. Sunday we got up late and missed a la carte and didn't want a full blown buffet. We wanted coffee and sweet rolls or a small breakfast. This hotel is fabulous in location being across from the Alamo, most transportation options, the River Walk and IMAX which had a great feature on The Alamo. The people who work there are very gracious and helpful.

The room was too smallPosted Sep 11, 2014
At the price of the room it was too small, had no coffee pot no micro wave or refrigerator and the temperature could not be adjusted so it was so cold that my wife and I came down with sore throats the staff was terrible at giving directions
