Very disappointed

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Disappointed that for the price there was no refrigerator or microwave. The charge for overnight self parking was way too high. Yes, technically the hotel is on the River Walk ~ across the street on the other side of the self parking garage. But, any action on the River Walk is quite a number of blocks away.

It will be GRAND!

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: The staff were outstanding making us feel like valued customers!
Cons: They are working on it.
Location: Within Walking distance to the Riverwalk. We enjoyed the Antique Warehouse just around the corner.
This is a beautiful old hotel that is currently in need of a little TLC and currently it is receiving it! They are in the midst of a major renovation with new rooms expected to become available around Christmas time (I think that is what they said) If you can be patient and overlook the construction (we didn't have any bother with noise they only work through the day) This is an opportunity to stay at a 5 star hotel that is filled with beautiful chandeliers, marble floors, expansive stair case, posh furniture...... Very Grand, the staff are all very dedicated and very attentive, from the doorman, front desk, maid service and even a manager that I met in the elevator. If you are looking for good value for your $ this is an excellent time to stay with them. The prices have been reduced to compensate for the construction.

be nice

I'm glad I chose to see for myself. This hotel defines hospitality. Many of the reviews complain about the construction being done at the hotel, which was a reason we steered clear, but we decided to see for ourselves. The hotel is beautiful, it's clear to see they are working hard to restore the beauty, but the staff goes above and beyond to accommodate. It's wonderful to see that part of San Antonio's history is being maintained. Great job St. Anthony's!
