Pros: The friendliness of the staff and location.
The staff was very friendly, very informative and answered our questions at check-in. The check-in process was very fast and we would stay here again and recommend to friends and family.

handing off my vehicle to valet was quick,painless and very professional. The check in was painfully slow. there was only one lady at the desk with an issue with a guest. There were no other ladies at the desk. Initial room walk in was freaking awesome. Easy on the eyes. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The television was very easy to manage. The only issue I had with the room was that the vent was extremely dirty which I didnt notice until I awakened in the morning congested and coughing. I loved how the shower set up was done. I went to the restaurant I thinnk it was Z. The food was excellent. I had brick stove chicken and it was a wounderful smell and taste. My waiter jason was johnny on the spot. My drinks never reached half empty. Jason was very knowledgable on the menu and answered all of our questions without difficulty.

Location: This is in downtown San Antonio and within walking distance of the Alamo, Riverwalk, and all other attrations
The only bad thing I have to say is that when we were at the pool area, one of the umbrellas was missing the base that holds it up and it was wedged between two lounge chairs. When the chairs were moved the umbrella fell would fall over.

Room was not clean

Pros: The location is good. Staff is excellent.
Cons: Fix the a/c unit. Get new pillows. Make sure the rooms are clean.
Location: Right by the river walk. We went to Six Flags. 20-25 minutes away.
I expect better from the Westin. We've been before and had an excellent experience. This time we stayed 2 nights. We got there and the room was dirty. We switched rooms and everything was fine from there. It took a while to be able to switch rooms. Beyond that, the staff was excellent and everything else was ok. The a/c unit wasn't working properly, and the pillows were flat as a board. But that aside, the staff made the stay somewhat enjoyable.

Nickel and dime

They nickle and dime you for everything. No free wifi. No parking. You are forced to pay for your own or pay for their valet. Pay for local calls ( are they that desperate?!) The Buffett was small and insipid. They only had two types of fruit. But the hotel decor was very nice.

AWFUL STAY- stay at The Contessa instead

I booked my hotel 2 weeks in advance on expedia for a double bed room for the 3 of us but when we checked in they didnt have any double bed rooms, only king bed rooms so they offered an awful rollaway bed that was nothing more than springs covered by a sheet and all they could offer us was a free drink at their bar which was only good for beer or a house wine.. Neither of which i drink.. So i asked for my money back ($300 a night!!!!!) and went to The Contessa next door which was way nicer and they had double beds available and we could walk right onto the riverwalk which is why we went to begin with and it was the same price as The Westin.
