“Not good if you need to park your car”

We stayed at the room with one full bed and it was too small the space. The bed was comfortable but not enough space to move around. The bathroom did not included a sink so you had to shave in the kitchenette sink.

“fit the description”

this hotel certainly fit the description on-line and fulfilled the requirements for my weekend. It was very clean and simple, which was great and had much more personality the longer we stayed. Would stay here again.

“Priced appropriately”

This is not a 5-star hotel but it's priced appropriately. Small but clean rooms. Not very many amenities but still comfortable. Not much nearby, but seemed to be a safe/quiet neighborhood. The only surprise was the amount of noise from jet traffic- this is right under the approach to the airport- but for the price I still didn't mind that much.

Check out the Gaslamp quarter and the Zoo.

“Nice with a few drawbacks”

Very clean remodeled room, but small. No hotel parking, you had to park on the street and be out to the street by 8:00 am to put money in the meter if you could not find a parking spot without a meter. It is right in the landing path of the airport so a lot of jet noise, but it did not keep me awake so they may have changed the flight pattern after 10:00 pm. The lever that controlled my shower did not work. I brought it to the attention of the front desk and they had it fixed in less that 15 minutes. All in all a good stay. I would return.

“outstanding value”

Peaceful hideaway with european character. All staff very helpful. Morning sun on the private garden was a great way to start the day.

“Wonderful Hotel, Horrid Guests”

The front desk was friendly, the room was super clean (lighting needs to be better because it seems super dark though and curtains do not block out enough sun light to sleep-in) but since this hotel used to be an apartment building the walls aren't so well insulated/noise proof. When your neighbors decide to party late at night or get into a huge argument you will hear EVERYTHING (especially when they make up, ayayayayayayayay). Special shout out to the super Marine at the front desk for putting some of these folks in line. I see the potential in this place but until they fix the sound issue I can't say I would stay again (on a weekend at least!). Neighborhood was wonderful, the mexican food place around the corner (Taco Rey) saved us for breakfast every morning (continental isn't that filling for me). Took the Amtrak here and found it convenient to our hotel (30 minute walk then again we walk everywhere).

“right price, right location”

Pros: Excellent staff Clean rooms In room amenities (i.e. microwave, mini fridge) All rooms over looking courtyard Decent location Cons: Noisy (sounds of airplanes all day) Small rooms All in all, very happy. Would stay here again!

“Short weekend in San Diego”

I needed a room for just a weekend which was not too expensive. My room was small but clean. I could reached all my destinations by foot. If I visit San Diego again this hotel will be my first choice.

“Recommended”

Good rates, good continental bfast, clean hotel. My only negative was the I had requested a wake-up call, which I never received. Someone messed up, but luckily I'd never put that responsibility solely on the hotel, so I had an alarm to wake me up too. They did help me print my boarding pass and set up my shuttle to pick me up.

What to pack

Although the forecast was around 80 degrees, there were apparently pockets of fog and no sun (where I was). I definitely needed more clothing options than I packed.
