Downtown Hotel

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Would not stay at this hotel again.
It wasn't up to date as the pictures showed. It is a Downtown property and it looks the part.

Good value

Posted Apr 11, 2014
Given that this hotel is considerably cheaper than many others in San Diego I thought it was good value for money. I was attended a conference at the Convention Centre and it is about 20 min walk from there which was quite convenient and about 1/3 the price of the top end hotels that are a bit closer. The staff were friendly and helpful and the place was clean and there were nice little touches like a complimentary fruit bowl at reception. Obviously, at this price you can't expect the place to look like a 5 star hotel but it was suitable for my needs. The hotel felt safe and the people were nice but late at night you probably wouldn't want to walk home alone as the walk from town involves crossing over the freeway. That said, a taxi from the convention centre area one night cost me $6.80 which wasn't exorbitant.

Disapointed

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: close to down town.
Cons: parking , rooms price
Location: museum, parks. dowtown. zoo
Rooms were to small. sink was outside of restroom and next to microwave. paint chips were noticeable on doors. i think the biggest inconvenience was the parking i can believe i had to park 2 blocks away to park and pay that was ridiculous , i was very upset on that. and had to go every 30 minutes till 6pm for free parking , hot water took 8 mins to warm up in shower. on a safety note the Elevator permit is expired. has not been reinspected for safety by the city. i can see it needs maintenance. wow i think i wasted $90 for a $50 room stay.

The worst hotel ever

How can you allow people to stay here. Most unpleasant experience of my life. I booked 3 rooms for friends and family and I looked bad because it was like we were in prison.

Only if you really need too.

Room was tiny! Humid! Linens seemed old. There was a hair on the bathroom wall that never got cleaned in the whole time I was there, probably from the previous guests. It was quiet, so that was a plus. Breakfast sucked. They served begals with no cream cheese. Outdated 90's theme. Bed was very old. Did not sleep comfortably. Had to pay parking across the street $13 per night. Location was not the greatest but it was located close to everything. Staff wasn't horrible but I wasn't impressed either.

Close enough to walk anywhere!

The hotel is not fancy, but it got the job done. We got 1 room with a king bed and it was a little snug, but we didn't care. We really just wanted the room to sleep in. We walked to the Gaslamp and it took 10 minutes (15 if wearing heels). The hotel staff was very friendly and the check in/out was fast. Their breakfast consisted of bagels, muffin, Danishes and other small snacks and juices. All in all, I was pleased with what we got for the price we paid.
