Comfortable hotel in great locationPosted Jan 21, 2015
Pros: Location, staff, room cleanliness and comfort
Cons: The food was excellent in the dining room. The only suggestion would be to have additional waiter staff on duty during busy weekend mornings.
Location: Located on Shelter Island, this hotel has a great view of the bay and is central to all San Diego attractions - all within 20 minutes drive.
The Bay Club Hotel was an excellent choice. The hotel is close to the airport and in an excellent location for all San Diego area attractions. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, giving us activity suggestions that were fabulous. I can't say enough about the great stay.

Nice and ComfortablePosted Jan 19, 2015
Cons: It was noisy, there is not a lot of insulation between rooms. Couldn't hear specifics but just noise. There are a lot of helicopters flying over too
Location: USS Midway, Harbor cruises, Coronado, and other things to see along the bay were all a short drive away. There wasn't much within walking distance.
We enjoyed our stay very much. We liked the location of the hotel. It was on the bay and a short drive to many activities and restaurants. The hotel staff was really friendly as well as the restaurant staff. You did need to have patience at the restaurant, they were not overly speedy. It is an older hotel and looked it but it was clean and comfortable.

LOVED IT!!!Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: The closeness to the beach, the view, the friendly staff, the food, the hot tub, the waitress at the restaurant....everything!!!
Cons: Maybe adding a microwave in the room. Since there isn't a free breakfast it would have been nice to make some hot cocoa.
Location: Close to the beach so you can dip you toes in the ocean, swim, bike, walk...there is a small park just a little ways down the street. Visit Sea World
Everything at this hotel was what I expected and more!!! The location is fabulous right across from the beach and the bay. You could see the boats, the people jogging, bikers biking and just a short walk across the street and I was able to stick my feet in the Pacific Ocean! The view from our room was spectacular and there was even a patio door leading to a small deck outside the room. The room was really big and the bed was super comfortable. The shower was wonderful as well. We had the free nachos and chips at the happy hour and ordered half price appetizers which were delicious and filled us up!!! We didn't even need to order an anything else. After supper we went outside to the pool which was heated and sat in the wonderful hot tub which was just the right temperature and we could hear the soothing music from the hotel next door. The next day we went to Sea World. Miya at the front desk was super helpful and got us tickets to Sea World with a savings of $10.00 per ticket. It also allows you not to have to wait in line. She told us about other options we could use if we wanted and gave us great help and we even got a free post card of the hotel to send to our mom! I would definitely stay at this hotel if I ever get to San Diego again. It was also very easy to find and although we had to pay for parking there was a lot of parking spaces and the elevators were close as well. We absolutely loved this hotel and thank you to everyone at the Bay Club!

Nice for the pricePosted Jan 17, 2015
Price was ver reasonable.Friendly staff. Room was nice. View was gorgeous. Convenient to everything.Bathtub had black mold under the caulk bleeding through. I'm probably too critical because I used to work in a hotel and notice things as a manager instead of a customer. This hotel needs a little touch up to make it really nice. The first thing I noticed was that the control panel inside of the elevator was very worn and paint chipped and looked terrible. While walking down the hall I noticed the bottoms of all the doors were chipped.scratched up and needed staining . The Restaraunt service was poor 2 out of 3 times there.I ordered the new York cheesecake off the menu which had a pic of a nice golden brown piece. When I got it.it was white and it looked like something from Sams. Obviously they don't know what New york cheesecake is.Maybe they should look at the pic on their own menu. We had a very nice stay and with a little attention to detail it could be acceptional.

Bay Club is the place to go!Posted Jan 8, 2015
Pros: Location, view, newly completely remodeled, staff. Quite, mostly adults
Cons: Still would like to see safety bars in the bath tubs/shower
Location: Great location for airport, car rentals. Easy routes to Harbor Area, USS Midway, downtown, Balboa Park, Zoo, Sea World. Humphries Live Stage!
We've always stayed at the Bay Club except our first time to San Diego. Bay Club is close to airport, car rentals, restaurants, night club, walking/running path along the ocean, ocean or marina view. The Bay Club was fully remodeled last year and now sports a better and larger bar, new color scheme, wonderful comfortable beds, a great and very helpful staff. The free breakfast is a buffet every day with everything you could want (eggs, muffins, toast, a meat, french toast or pancakes, fruit, coffee, and orange juice). Other meals are quite good and daily specials usually include fish. Staff is the best. We had occasion to need their help with a few things and response was first rate. When our flight home was cancelled we immediately called to see if we could stay another day and were even able to get our same rooms at an even lower rate! Jodi brought the van and picked us up at the airport then delivered us back the next morning at 5:10am. If you want a quite, relaxing, mostly adult venue with a great staff you can't beat the Bay Club and Marina. We usually prefer the Marina View but have also enjoyed the Bay View. Both have a large outside area to sit and enjoy the views.

Nice Hotel in Nice CityPosted Dec 27, 2014
Pros: Best value in the area. Wonderful ocean front walk across the road and pier nearby. Excellent restaurant on premises.
Cons: Entrance or exit by other than front door was a problem.
Location: We enjoyed the morning walk along the well kept park and ocean front.
We arrive by cruise ship and enjoyed two days around the port and touring Point Loma. Longer time would be well spent in this city.
