Great Hotel, Lousy Front Desk staff

Posted May 18, 2015
Cons: Customer Service at front desk
When we arrived around 2:30 to check in there was someone standing at the front desk that did not greet us and when we finally said that we were here to check in he said that all the "reservationists" were on the phones in back and someone would be with us shortly. After about 15 minutes of standing there awkardly, a gentleman came out from the back and didn't even greet us or apologize for our waiting, he just started to converse with the guy that was standing there when we had arrived and then he asked for our name. Just very unfriendly, no customer service what so ever. The hotel itself was very nice and the room was very spacious and clean. The only other issue which wasn't really a big deal just seems very weird is that to get ice you would have to bring your ice bucket to the bar at the front desk and have the bartender fill it up for you.

Dear Desiree, Thank you for responding regarding your stay with us. I apologize that the Front Desk staff did not greet you with our usual friendly welcome. The person you encountered was a bellman that clearly needs additional training. I'm sorry that the clerk was not apologetic and friendly checking you in. I will address this with the Front Office. Unfortunately, there are no ice or vending on the floors, but we are happy to deliver ice to the rooms. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the hotel and I hope that you will give us another try when you are in San Diego again. Sincerely, Mike Ardelt, General Manager

Nice Hotel, close to downtown San Diego + beach

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: Nice room, friendly staff.
Cons: Only the bath/sink configuration which surely won't happen. It was ok though,
Location: Ocean Beach, Old town not too far. Bay-front restaurants close.
Nice room with pretty harbor view. Enjoyed restaurants in closeby.

Beautiful Marina View

Posted May 7, 2015
Pros: Had a lovely pool area. The hot tub was wonderful.
Cons: Can't think of anything
Location: There are other Restaurants within walking distance as well as the Hotel Restaurant which is very good. It also has a beautiful view of the Marina.
Had a wonderful stay at Bay Club. Our room had a balcony overlooking the Marina and the view was lovely. The room was clean and the staff pleasant. Had a free breakfast every morning in their restaurant that was delicious. Walked across the street to the beach and enjoyed the Harbor views. Would definitely stay there again.

On the bay in San Diego

Posted May 6, 2015
Pros: The location is quite.
Cons: Great just the way it is.
Location: See above.
A great location close to the city but far from the stress. A quiet pleasant location and great for boat lovers. Close to the airport and ten minutes by car to downtown. Rooms are of the older style but clean and comfortable. Has a great restaurant and room service if you prefer. Has an excellent courtesy vehicle at $10 a room to/from airport and downtown.

Nice Location, good stay

Posted May 4, 2015
Pros: convient location
Cons: update rooms..
Location: Downtown, beaches
Located on Shelter island. close to airport, downtown and beaches. Hotel staff was friendly, free coffee was nice and did morning walks on the trail along the bay before heading out for the day or a morning lounging by the pool. Room was good sized with a mini fridge and everything was well maintained but could use some updating (old tile, carpet, etc..). We did Mission beach and Gas Lamp district in the evening and were easy to access within 15 mins or so.... Was nice for the price and would stay again...
