Nice hotel across the street from the oceanPosted May 26, 2015
Pros: The proximity to the ocean & downtown San Diego.
Location: We were pretty close to a number of attractions: Old Town, Gaslight District, Seaport Village, Sea World - all within about 15 minutes away.
Room was very nice with a balcony & a beautiful ocean view. Restaurant was pretty small & did not offer a wide variety of items - but it did overlook the ocean - prices comparable to other restaurants in the area. We had to find someone to clean our room the second day of our stay. We had left the room to sight see for approx. 6 hrs. & came back to an unclean room. When we came back the 2nd time the room was made up but they had not replaced any of the tolietries - basket was empty. We had our own shampoo but no soap. Not totally sure I would book again - I guess I expected a little more for the cost.

Very nice, family-friendly hotel.Posted May 26, 2015
Pros: The Food. The Park down the beach walk, with a play area for the kiddos! Small-town Ocean breezes. Watching the boats come and go.
Cons: add a microwave. maybe improve the floors for sound resistance.
Location: you can walk on the beach walk, and stop at the playground, or fish from the pier
A medium-sized hotel, with beautiful views. Great food from the restaurant which they deliver to you room, if you so wish. Beautiful views on both sides - one side is the bay view, and the other was marina - we had both! The only thing I would have liked was a small microwave. We have a toddler and wanted to heat his food which we had prepared. Other than that, it was very pleasant!

Great Hotel, Lousy Front Desk staffPosted May 18, 2015
Cons: Customer Service at front desk
When we arrived around 2:30 to check in there was someone standing at the front desk that did not greet us and when we finally said that we were here to check in he said that all the "reservationists" were on the phones in back and someone would be with us shortly. After about 15 minutes of standing there awkardly, a gentleman came out from the back and didn't even greet us or apologize for our waiting, he just started to converse with the guy that was standing there when we had arrived and then he asked for our name. Just very unfriendly, no customer service what so ever. The hotel itself was very nice and the room was very spacious and clean. The only other issue which wasn't really a big deal just seems very weird is that to get ice you would have to bring your ice bucket to the bar at the front desk and have the bartender fill it up for you.

Dear Desiree, Thank you for responding regarding your stay with us. I apologize that the Front Desk staff did not greet you with our usual friendly welcome. The person you encountered was a bellman that clearly needs additional training. I'm sorry that the clerk was not apologetic and friendly checking you in. I will address this with the Front Office. Unfortunately, there are no ice or vending on the floors, but we are happy to deliver ice to the rooms. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the hotel and I hope that you will give us another try when you are in San Diego again. Sincerely, Mike Ardelt, General Manager

Pros: Nice room, friendly staff.
Cons: Only the bath/sink configuration which surely won't happen. It was ok though,

Beautiful Marina ViewPosted May 7, 2015
Pros: Had a lovely pool area. The hot tub was wonderful.
Cons: Can't think of anything
Location: There are other Restaurants within walking distance as well as the Hotel Restaurant which is very good. It also has a beautiful view of the Marina.
Had a wonderful stay at Bay Club. Our room had a balcony overlooking the Marina and the view was lovely. The room was clean and the staff pleasant. Had a free breakfast every morning in their restaurant that was delicious. Walked across the street to the beach and enjoyed the Harbor views. Would definitely stay there again.
