Great location! Close to beach, shops, restaurants

Posted Jul 18, 2015
Pros: It was very cute, clean, with a pool, and convenient for everything.
Cons: Customer service. There was no decaf coffee and a continental breakfast, as provided by similar nearby hotels.
Location: Ideal location right by the beach, fun restaurants, and boutique shopping.
There were some additional charges at check-in. The front desk clerk was extremely rude and threatened to give my room away to someone else.

Disaster Averted Because We Could Change Rooms

Posted Jul 9, 2015
Pros: Very clean and updated, close to the beach.
Cons: The original room was terrible, your worst nightmare. The other rooms available would have been more expensive than we would have been willing to pay.
Location: 3 minute walk to the beach, plenty of reasonably priced restaurants and micro pubs close by.
Originally placed in the outer most room at the motel. No wifi connection, a very bright hallway light that lit up the room, and a paper thin door that leaked light and allowed you to hear the conversations in the next room. We had to drape the bedspread over the blinds to blacked the room but the light from the door of the next room still brightened the room. After complaining we were moved to a beautiful two room suite. If there had been no other rooms available, we couldn't have stayed the 3 days. I suspect that the original room would always be the "lowest priced room."

Great location in Pacific Beach

Posted Jul 4, 2015
Pros: Helpful staff. All of our needs we're met, from the condition of our room to the blow dryer and iron I requested.
Cons: Reminders to the upstairs guests that there are also downstairs guests! This was the only bother, especially after the 10:00 posted "quiet time".
Location: Everything needed is close by. We walked the boardwalk, walked to Ralph's for groceries, and had plenty of restaurant choices too!
As usual a great time in San Diego. Pacific Beach all the way down to Mission Beach is an adventure. Close, easy drive to Sea World.

Great value and location.

We had about 3 rooms between all of our family over the course of 5 days. The fully kitchens were nice amenities as it allowed us to cook and eat-in when possible. The hotel is walking distance to a nice beach area and Konos Cafe so we hardly drove while we were there. The pool is nice and clean and the BBQ provided by the hotel was convenient for our large family. I will definitely stay again in the future.

Good in close to beach

Posted Jun 8, 2015
Overall we enjoy staying here. Inn has seen some updates but still shows some wear and tear. Rooms are barely insulated so outside noise can be bothersome. Staff is super friendly though. The key for us is location. Parking is easy and FREE, plus you are a short walk to Pacific Beach. There is a stairway down plus showers at sand level and bathrooms up top. Never too crowded. Overall we enjoy coming here and will probably continue.

Safe clean hotel near the beach

Posted Jun 7, 2015
Pros: See above remarks
Cons: It would have been great to have necessary beach items like blankets, beach towels, beach chairs. Things you dont really have room to pack in your bag
Location: Loved that it was soooo close to the beach and boardwalk! Also close to bus stop! Great as we went to old town san diego for the day.
My daughters and i had a very rare opportunity to travel together on a last min trip to san diego. Had to find a safe clean place FAST and found Beach Haven. So glad we did! The staff was quick with suggestions where to eat and play and also to try to accomodate our needs (found a beach chair for us and a "beach blanket" too!) There was some late night noise from a nearby room and without our asking they took care of that too. Our room was a remodeled room and was very comfortable. Plenty of towels (hate having to ask for more RIGHT?!?) now don't come in expecting luxury..its a nice clean lil hotel a short walk to the beach and boardwalk. Its clearly older but we found that charming. May not be for everyone but this traveler looks for clean, friendly AND affordable! Nice job Beach Haven Inn!

Great Family spot

Posted Jun 4, 2015
Pros: The hotel was great, the staff was great and very accommodating, the parking was excellent and free, and it appeared to be family-owned.
Cons: Wifi in the room.
Location: Recommend Woodstock for pizza, just up on Garnet near Trader Joe's.
The hotel is more like an inn. Rooms are small but updated and modern; extremely comfortable, very clean. What I look for in a beach stay is no rust, a shower that drains (no sand backup), no mold, and a clean updated room with a working air conditioner. All of this was there! Additionally, the kitchen was fully equipped (less food, of course) except for napkins and dish detergent. It is also very family friendly with a pool, jacuzzi, and it is also close to food and shops. However, it is not in the center of the party spots, so it's quiet. It's literally about a half block from the boardwalk on Mission Blvd.

Best hotel ever

Posted May 21, 2015
My best friend and I explored San Diego for the first time and this hotel was spot on. It was a half a block from the beach, affordable and the mostly friendliest staff members ever! I would go back in a heart beat!
