Beware do not stay at this hotel!Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Customer service was horrible and general manager Pablo was rude.
Cons: General manager needs to take some customer service classes.
I was in the shower and so where several other hotel guest several of them with shampoo on there hair and they decide to turn off the water to do some work on the building and fail to notified the guest. I ask maintenance guy why there was no water and he said he told brainless manager Pablo that he was turning water off for about an hour and Pablo was to notified guest which he never did. When I ask Pablo he said there was an emergency and that is why they had to turn water off. There was no emergency cause maintenance guy even said they new ahead of time that this was going to happened. When I told Pablo the brainless manager that once in a while he should use his brain and inform the hotel guest that water is being shut down his response was I will not tolerate you insulted me. I told him oh you will tolerate me cause in case you don’t know guest like me are paying your salary and all he said was all I can do is give you a key to a room in a different building where there was water. Then he goes on saying that if he knew that we were a group that he would of not allowed the reservation. We booked about 10 rooms. Then their computer system was down, no internet and all he was saying there where working on it. Please this is not a hotel to stay at.

Terrible bedsPosted Jul 4, 2015
Pros: The pool
Cons: Beds and pillows
Both of the beds queen beds had a hump running down the middle so you felt like you were going to roll off. The pillows were small, hard marshmallows. Not a good nights sleep at all.

Pretty bad!Posted Jul 1, 2015
Bad neighborhood. Homeless people stealing ice from the ice machine. Very dirty carpet and bad smelling towels. Only positive thing was the nice Mexican lady attending the store at the adjacent gasoline station, which has nothing to do with the hotel. I have stayed at Best Western hotels in many places and they are usually pretty decent! This hotel was by far the worst I have ever stayed at.

San Diego Vacation - Place to SleepPosted Jun 30, 2015
Modest sized room, was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was pretty decent, and it is right of I-8 which makes it easy to get anywhere quickly.

Met ExpectationsPosted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: Check in and out was very easy. The Breakfast was surprisingly good. I was expecting muffins in the lobby so when there was waffles,OJ,etc I was happy
Cons: Water temp in the showers. It played the hot to cold to hot to cold game.
Location: I wouldn't recommend doing anything in that area, but only 10-15 minutes away from downtown.
Cheapest rates we found while visiting San Diego. Close enough to the city to still do everything. The hotel is in a not so good area of San Diego, but we had no issues and at no time did we feel unsafe. We only used it for sleeping and then were gone the whole day anyways. It is not a high end hotel and we didn't expect that so we were content.

I feel cheated.Posted Jun 9, 2015
Pros: Best Western made a bad situation worse by not being able to even consider a way to help us.
Cons: There should be a way for Best Western to be compassionate for extraordinary circumstances. Mgr Pablo Sum did not even try-just stood behind policy.
My 5 yr old granddaughter broke her leg the day before we checked in. Doctors would not cast her leg because we were traveling and we were advised to return home (3 day drive) immediately. Because we booked through Expedia, Best Western could not cancel our reservation. We had stayed one day of a 3 day reservation. I only wanted to cancel Saturday, since we had to leave on Friday to get back to Idaho to get her leg casted. We checked out of the Best Western on Friday and either Best Western or Expedia will benefit from my granddaughter's broken leg. I should be refunded one night's stay because of these circumstances - no matter what the fine print says.

For El Cajon, It's Not As Bad As Some OthersPosted Jun 8, 2015
Pros: Coffee and refrigerator in the room. Reasonable rates. Pleasant staff and clean room.
Cons: Security or staff patrolling the parking lot at night.
Location: Easy on/off the freeway.
This is the second hotel I've tried in El Cajon with somewhat better results than another nearby hotel I tried 6 months ago. I would go back, but would ask for a second floor room next time as the first floor was a little noisy. I was awakened at 2 a.m. by loud yelling, laughter and cursing - it sounded like a party was going on in the parking lot just outside my room. It went on long enough that I was getting concerned for the safety of my car. The closet door fell down when I opened it.
