The staff were very friendly. But the property/rooms do need attention. The room had a muggy smell, we had to open the balcony door to air out the room. Unfortunately the experience didn’t get better, when I laid down to go to sleep, to my shock there were bandaids on the outside of the night stand so when I rolled over I was staring right at them. I mentioned it to the desk clerk and he apologized, said he would let the housekeeping manager know but there was nothing compensated for it. I had to scrape them off with a coffee straw and thankfully I had some Lysol wipes handy. I also mentioned there was some hair on the bathroom floor when we arrived plus the sink wasn’t properly cleaned either. I was so grossed out that I didnt dare go for the included breakfast. I just felt super uncomfortable in the room.

Pros: We opted to stay here because the price was really good. Staff was friendly. Pool and hot tub were very well maintained. Hotel room was spacious and clean. Ocean view from our room! And Encinitas is such a charming town so location was great. Cons: The walls are extremely thin and noise was an issue (didn’t help that there were about 40-50 teenage lacrosse players staying there while we were there…). Overall, this property just felt old and outdated. I think at some point awhile back, it may have been a hot spot, but that’s not the case anymore.

The Encinitan was precisely what we needed to make the end of our vacation travel spectacular. The room was large, bright, and comfortable. We had a balcony view of the ocean! The hotel's location was convenient to access the Coaster and Moonlight Beach.

It's ok...spider webs over the lights, balconies...surprised by $15 charge... it's hidden in the fine print. Was told it was for parking and breakfast, but on website says that's supposed to be included. Typical bait tactics to get you to book... instead of just including it in the price.

Staff was nice and helpful. Place was clean and they came and made beds and replaced towels daily. Nice breakfast, hot and cold, fruit, cereal, yogurt, bagels, waffles, sausage, eggs, omlettes and a variety of jucies, teas and coffee. The room was quite large and had a very nice kitchenette. I was expecting a mini fridge but there was a quarter size fridge with freezer. There was also a microwave and small stove. There was dishes, a pan and silverware as well. A nice find was that the pool was heated. The kids loved that. Overall I would stay here again.

We loved our morning on our balcony as we drank great coffee & enjoyed perfect views of the surf rolling onto the beach. 2 minute drive to brunch with 40 year friends in downtown Encinitas.

This is an older hotel, but really liked it. Great balcony with an ocean view (even though it said park view). Room was really clean and we could walk to the restaurants and live entertainment via a dirt path on the edge of the property. We’d stay there again.

I loved the room I had chosen just next time I would like the suite room I got on the very top floor hoping they have it. They had kitchen usage so I cooked a fantastic meal for my man. Sadly not all the kitchen utensils were there so we had to accommodate and try to use what we had to cook.
