Awesome weekend

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: It was clean and comfortable. It is not fancy but nice.
Cons: The screen door was off the runners. We couldn't get towels for the pool area. They were out? They need to sever breakfast earlier. 7:30 to late.
Location: It worked for us. Everything was close by and a lot to do.
We were there for the Del Mar Car Show, as were any of the guess.

I really wanted to like this hotel.

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: Location and staff.
Cons: Internet, tv, room improvements.
Location: Great beach nearby, close to shopping and good food. Central location to many things.
The staff was very sweet and helpful but the accomodations were disappointing. They seem to be upgrading the facilities but perhaps using the lowest bidder because the workmanship is pretty shoddy. The size of the room was very large, but the room had an old smell. I had a large deck but it and the furniture on it were filthy and unusable. The internet was very sporadic and when it did work was extremely slow. The tv reception was the worst I've ever experienced. It took forever for it to switch between channels and many channels just plain didn't work.

Lovely hotel close to the old town and the beach.

Posted Oct 2, 2014
Pros: Room size and closeness to old town.
Cons: Brighten up the DULL decoration in the rooms; it was SO dark!
Lovely hotel close to the old town and the beach. Great pool and hot tub right near to the small but ample breakky room which provides fantastic freash food and plenty of it! Nice and quiet yet lively and friendly too.

ENCINITAS HOTEL

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Located near the beach. Nice breakfast buffet. Upgraded to a suite with separate bedroom and kitchen for minimal cost. Small but nice pool area.
Cons: Upgrade to color schemes. The dark brown paint on the woodwork and trim were a bit outdated.
Very nice hotel. Train near by did not bother us at all.

Convenient

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Update decor. Insulate from road noise.
Location: Beach and beach businesses
Close to beach activities and businesses along 101 and within walking distance from the RR station. Numerous people had problems with the electronic room keys requiring several trips to the office to get them reset. Occasional traffic noise late at night was a minor problem. Nice balconies with views on every room.

very shabby place...

Posted Jan 15, 2014
The hotel is very shabby - seemed likely to close sometime soon. The restaurant is closed, so nowhere to eat in the hotel. The pre-prepared breakfast buffet by the pool was ok. The room was missing some furniture and the couch was dirty. Bed was comfortable and clean and bathroom was clean, though missing things like coffee creamer/sweetener/stirrer. To get ice we had to go downstairs. We noticed that a number of college kids were staying there - probably 4-6 to a room, because the price is right, and the town is a great surfing and bicycling center.

Good Hotel, Great Views

Posted Dec 3, 2013
Pros: Good sized balcony with a wonderful view. Good location. Nice sized rooms with clean, if not fancy, bathrooms.
Cons: The television was strange. It paused between changing channels so you never knew if you were going to get a particular channel or not.
Location: Right near the beach. You do hear the train, but you can't escape that if you are in Encinitas. Besides, it's not a bad sound.
The hotel is nice in that so many of the rooms have an ocean view and the price is reasonable. The bed is comfortable (but the front desk guy did not know what I meant by "feather" or "Down" pillows.) It's okay, the ones they had were good enough. The staff was nice but not too forthcoming. Granted we stayed during a holiday so maybe they were on skeleton crew. I asked where the breakfast (included) was served and he told me how to get there. Only it was well past the time they were serving. He could have saved me the walk by letting me know. Other than that, our experience was fine.

Comfortable hotel close to beach

Posted Sep 1, 2013
Pros: Comfortable beds, good view, great breakfast, excellent location.
Cons: Maybe new carpet and bathroom renovation. Not that is was in bad shape but over time styles change and updating becomes necessary.
Location: Local to Moonlight beach, parks, downtown Encinitas with great restaurants and shopping
Our family has stayed here twice and had an excellent experience both times. We got the ocean view we asked for and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was especially good and we liked being so close to the beach and downtown Encinitas.
