“Grounds were beautiful!”

If you have no difficulty walking or with stairs, this is a fabulous value (elevators are available, but they are slow). But part of the charm is exploring the landscaping of the multiple terraces and levels. My family enjoyed our stay 13 years ago, and we enjoyed it again in 2008. Courtyards and garden are gorgeous.

“Very impressed”

Our stay at this hotel was very enjoyable. Its situation, 2 minutes walk from Old Town San Diego and not in the high rise part of town, is excellent, the room was pleasant and well equipped and having free internet access is a plus. Plenty of busy restaurants down the street (didn't use the in-hotel restaurant). Only downsides are that the swimming pool is small, and there is a $12 per day charge for parking.

“Wonderful place to stay”

The Hacienda is located in the heart of Old Town San Diego within walking distance of everything. The staff was very helpful, courteous and friendly. The room was clean as a pin and quite comfortable with two TV's. (Mini-suite) The only negative experience was the restaurant. The menu was somewhat limited and service was fair, less than what we expected, given our other impressions of the facility. It seemed that they did not have enough help to service the customers in a timely manner. The food was good but variety was limited, especially for breakfast. Overall, it was a wonderful hotel and very convenient. We will stay with them whenever we are in San Diego. One more item-my wife mispalced her keys while we were there and did not discover them missing until we returned home to Virginia. The staff especially the manager and head housekeeper kept up the search even after they had searched the room and the hotel. They found our keys in the safe in the room (we had forgotten putting them in the safe-getting old) and are mailing the keys to us. We are very grateful.

This hotel is a great location for Old Town, easy walk throughout and to transportaton depot. Hotel is very well maintained.

We first visited the Hacienda in 1999 and the layout is the same today but it is still a great place to holiday. We really had no issues with being at the top of the complex as we had a car and parked for free on Juan street outside the suite. The complex is very well looked after indeed.

“Great place to stay”

I was looking for some non expensive options for stay in San Diego and Best Western proved to be an excellent choice. It is located quite close to Downtown too. The rooms were spacious and had most of the basic amenities required for a short stay. Overall a very pleasant stay.

“Great value & convenient”

Close to the freeway but not so close to have excess noise. Borders Old Town and easy walking distance to all of it but again misses all the noise. Quick access to Coronado, Balboa Park, Sea World & La Jolla. No noticible airport noise which can be a big problem in San Diego.
