Will be better after remodeling!Posted Nov 20, 2014
First, Jim who answered the phone was incredibly helpful. Thanks Jim! Second, this hotel is under tenovations and should be much better after the remodeling is complete. They are currently finishing the 2nd floor. The floor I was on still had the old carpet which smelled musty and kinda gross. But, as I said. They are remodeling all the rooms so if you are thinking of staying here, just make sure you get a remodeled room. Bathrooms are small but clean. Close to everything and if you are lucky you might have a partial or full ocean view. I would stay there again!

Fantastic location!Posted Oct 27, 2014
Cons: Our rooms felt very old!!!!
Location: Can't get any better. Able to walk to many things.
The location is the best part of staying here. The staff was friendly. We reserved two rooms, they were not the updated ones and they need to be updated.

Great location near the beachPosted Oct 26, 2014
Pros: Location, staff were terrific, breakfast provided each morning, refrigerators in the rooms
Cons: Would LOVE to have a microwave in the room. The pillows were a little hard.
Location: Close to beautiful beaches, snorkeling, playing in the ocean and surfing. Good restaurants very close by. Easy car drive to other sites of San Diego.
We were traveling for business and vacation. La Jolla is a perfect location on the beach and this hotel offered a "home base" from which we could (with a car rental) easily access all of the sites of San Diego. The motel is within easy walking distance of the beach and great restaurants. The pillows were a little hard, and the carpeting worn, but hotel management stated that they will be replacing the carpeting and doing some other upgrading by the end of the year. There are nice refrigerators in the rooms, and we wish there were microwaves, as we have small appetites and tend to bring food back from the restaurants. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to San Diego!

Great location, friendly staff, decent breakfastPosted Oct 14, 2014
Cons: Don't have the housekeeping staff checking rooms at 7am.
We stayed for two nights, and it was a good experience. Here are some pros/cons Pros - Included breakfast had a good selection and was pretty good food (cereal, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, waffles, bread/bagels). The hotel staff was friendly. There was plenty of parking, with spots available in front of the hotel, behind it, and in a little parking garage. Location was ideal. Walking distance to the downtown area and the viewing beach. Cons - Was a bit more expensive than planned. Was supposed to end up ~$150/night, but was actually $200/night. Parking was $12/night and it's hard to tell where the rest of the difference came from. Our shower tub was initially clogged, which was annoying, but maintenance fixed it on the second day. We got a check from the cleaning crew at 7:00 on checkout day. Granted it was our fault for not having the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, but this seemed extremely early. Overall, the place was nice and we would stay here again. All hotels in the area are expensive, so we couldn't squabble over the price difference too much.

Very close to everythingPosted Oct 3, 2014
Pros: location, cleanliness
Cons: parking can be a challenge but its downtown so you have to take that into account.
Location: Downtown LJ, the Cove, Museum.
The hotel is centrally located adjacent to downtown and the beaches. We've stayed in many hotels in La Jolla. This place is convenient, very clean, has a wonderful staff and the best we've stayed in. We will stay here again!

OK hotel, great location.WiFi horriblePosted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: Staff, and location
Location: Great shopping and close to the beach
I like the staff, but the facility is old and the breakfast is the same everyday and is not great. I could not use the internet because of bad connection. This hotel could be great hotel for its location and staff but please update!!

Nice property. Very good location with a short walk to Prospect Street (downtown La Jolla) and La Jolla cove. A little dated but they are working on updating.
