We had a nice suite with a patio and windows that look out over the bay. It has close access to the walking trail along the bay. I wouldn't change a thing. We were very pleased.

Great Location, Beautiful Pools!

We booked on an Expedia daily deal. This is a lovely hotel, with beautiful views and lovely pools. The staff was friendly and extra helpful! We enjoyed our stay and will go back if we can get another rate special :)

Nice hotel away from noise/traffic

Posted Nov 22, 2014
Pros: Nice rooms, good food at the Blue Wave restaurant, felt more like a mini resort rather than a hotel.
Cons: Overall everything was fine. No outstanding issues.
Location: Location on Shelter Island is away from the hustle and bustle of downtown but only minutes from the touristy places that most vacations want to visit.
We were there for 9 days in an Island Palms Suite. Nice and roomy. The kitchen could have used some extra utensils for those who want to cook. If we were to stay again I would choose a junior suite in either the Casa Del Mar or Marina building as newer and both better balconys. Our balcony was narrow and table / chairs were crowded. The Jr. suite is a little smaller, has only a bar type fridge instead of a full cook top, but when vacationing thats really all most people would need. Not as pricey also. The low flush toilets are very loud, could wake up the dead.

Pros: clean
can't get the wifi until I call twice to the front desk twice and then transfer to the technical person to help me out. won't want to stay here again. but the scenery outside is so charming.

Nice Location

Pros: Location
Cons: Put a room fridge
Nice hotel and location in the harbor. Good for relax. If you are looking to go out and party, this is not the place. Also, you have to drive to the beach (Mission beach or La Jolla), not walkable. Overall, great peaceful experience.

We very much enjoyed our stay in San Diego. It's a beautiful city with lots to do and we loved the location of the hotel in conjunction with the activities we had planned

Not worth the money

This was a very overpriced hotel. No extra. Even had to pay for parking. Like $180 a night was not enough. I would not recommend this hotel

Would definitely go back!

Pros: I loved the location and our room. We also had a small patio off of our room which was nice to sit outside and read or eat at.
Cons: The restaurant was ok. The food was not that flavorful and the staff was overwhelmed even thought they were not that busy.
Location: It was just a short drive from downtown San Diego but far enough away if your not interested in staying right in the city.
The location, staff, and room were great! I would recommend this place to anyone interested in going to San Diego.
